Not even her real father. Obviously the situation was escalating over a period of time. Even 700 miles away wasn't far enough for the poor woman to run. Shot at Granny's house, no less. This is the brute face of Islam that is revealed way too often, mainly to young girls and women who reject it, and almost always by older fanatical men. Sounds like the woman didn't even consider calling the police to protect her. Islam is a law unto itself, and its fanatical adherents consider Islamic law to be above all non-Islamic laws. Killed for not wearing a head scarf. This is sad. This is STUPID. THIS HAS TO STOP. |

We have to stop calling killers and adherents to violence "devout". Call them what they are -- fanatical, unbalanced maniacs who attempt to justify their insanity by claiming they are adhering to religious tenets. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1371066Nope. This kind of thing is far too prevalent here and abroad to call them maniacs. They're acting according to the law and customs of their faith. Accept it. It's institutionalized, and the longer you deny it, the worse the problem will get. You can only confront something like this by being truthful about its causes. |
