Apparently there was a 3-year old who was kidnapped in front of his house, and was with his mom.

Charged need to be put on the mom. Nothing is said about whether the male figure is endangering the boy, but if that were the case she needed to have gone to the courts to get custody of the kid, now she could lose custody all together and she kinda deserves it, even if you think you know what's best for your kid - Don't resort to kidnapping!
