WASHABLE RFID TAGS HELP CATCH HOTEL TOWEL THIEVES
Welcome to the Brave New World (Order)

Plush terrycloth bathrobes, 800-thread-count sheets and fluffy, freshly laundered towels can tempt even the most law-abiding hotel guest to take up a life of suitcase-stuffing crime.

Irresistible as they may be, petty theft of these luxurious (and free!) linens are gouging the hotel industry to the rude wake-up call of approximately $100 million a year.

I agree. The hotel towels (in nice hotels) are better than the ones I have at home. I've never stolen any towels but it seems to be a fairly common crime (my mother stole one towel from some random hotel). With technology it should be a fairly easy crime to thwart. Shouldn't steal things from a hotel it's not your home you're a guest. I've never heard of people stealing sheets though. Hotels will end up using cheaper stuff and everyone will suffer...plus they have your credit card and can charge you for everything missing.
