Get him some Gatorade and some imodium, stat. He'll need lots of fluids, could just be a one-two punch of viruses or bacteria that he may have gotten from someone else. But make sure he's kept cool and drinks a lot of fluids. He'll be losing a lot of electrolytes.

If you have a 24 hour doctors practice around then head over there. Who knows he may have had food poisoning and will luckily get over it soon. Since you are worried though it is best to go to the doctors to be safe... or ER.

Only small amounts of fluids at a time if he can tolerate it. He'll be more miserable and lose more electrolytes if he forces fluids and then vomits it back up.

NO Immodium or any anti-diarrhea medication unless it is known for sure that your friend does not have a bacterial infection in his GI tract. Immodium will only allow the infection to sit in his gut longer increasing the risk for an extended illness.

Vomiting and diarrhea are miserable but they are signs of a healthy body ejecting a pathogen.
