Everybody was shorting the dollar. Now that the dollar has rebounded (a little) people who expected it to fail are panicking...makes perfect sense.

When the dollar gains value Silver, Gold, and Oil drop.

There is current flooding in areas of the US that have refineries. So, that could be the reason why gas prices are rising - that is where the Gas comes from. So, that would make sense.

were at 1.42 here in Ontario, just went up 7 cents per ltr this morning, for my friends in the USA that works out to around 5.80 a gallon with exchange plus or minus a nickle or so...

Well, I'm guess that this means that gas-prices have never ever changed much then, cuz the dollar is always changing. The price is indeed changing for customers because if their income does not rise due to the depressed dollar, whilst gasoline prices increasing, then yes, the gas prices are indeed rising then.

This has always been the case because the delivery of the oil is a month after the price-change, and then you have the processing into gasoline, so this all takes time to filter on through the pipe-lines, no pun intended.

So are you saying that this system is the American system that we should have, that it's the best system we could ever want in life ?

Yes, we had a ten percent increase at the pumps after a ten perecent dump in bbl price and now with todays dump we have a 30% price disparity. And you figure at 150/barrel we had 128/liter prices and now that we are 1/3 under that price, plus the can. dollar is up 38% from when we had those prices. I'm left puzzled. It must be the new math.

Who here really thinks that gas will go down back to any normal type of price…say under $3.00? It won’t happen with the exception, once the Presidential election gets closer, the President will force prices down, then say look, I was able to get this done for you, win votes and help with the reelection. Just look at past election campaigns, happens every time.

If you don’t want to pay for high gas prices, then do just that, don’t pay. Ride a bike, walk, carpool, something. We all complain about it, but sit back and do nothing about it. Out of the thousand who read this post, 99% will do absolutely nothing about it except complain.

So, let’s do that, nothing. Have TPTB keep raising prices, effecting the economy in total, until it finally collapses. Or we could write our Congressman, oh they are the same ones getting the kickbacks for big oil. Hmmm, who else could we write too? Uh, no one. Then what can we do? Stop driving and buying fuel…that is about the sum of it. Or you could have fuel shipped to you from a third world country, say Iraq or Brazil, where gas cost about 60 cents.

Unfortunately for many suburbanites without metro service to other suburbs where they work, that is not an option.

Maybe the people should stop investing in the stock market, it's obviously rigged and the outsiders always lose.
