Quoting: HitndahedfredWhy do you think it went up recently? Coz people are NOT driving as much and the gas/oil companies need to keep their profits up. They WILL push back and continue to raise gas prices artificially. I refuse to buy fuel if I don't need it. I limit my travel and do more at home now too. SCREW THEM !! Ya Haveh!!! Gloria! User ID: 1378870 United States 05/11/2011 02:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's the data: According to my sales and marketing executive at Antigravity Universal, we have sold 70 million cars in America. We have 90 million Amercans. 77.77%=70/90 77% of all Americans have our cars, which don't need gasoline. So you shouold be able to figure out the reason for the increase of gasoline and oil stocks. Our cars don't need gasoline. I predict the cost of gasoline will go down a little further. But who cares!!! Get yourself one of our antigravity cars, they don't need gasoline. Our factory store is located at 2 West Street in Washington, DC. You can also find our AU cars and titanum free power motorcycles at most major cities. Love, peace, Light Ya Haveh |

Well, I'm guess that this means that gas-prices have never ever changed much then, cuz the dollar is always changing. The price is indeed changing for customers because if their income does not rise due to the depressed dollar, whilst gasoline prices increasing, then yes, the gas prices are indeed rising then. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1048292This has always been the case because the delivery of the oil is a month after the price-change, and then you have the processing into gasoline, so this all takes time to filter on through the pipe-lines, no pun intended. |

Weltsmertz User ID: 1280572 United States 05/11/2011 03:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't get it, I am confused...can someone please explain what this means? Gas will go down, or up? What is the consequences of this? A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. Friedrich Nietzsche if I did not feel so sad as I look at them. Sad because they do not know the truth and I do know it. Oh, how hard it is to be the only one who knows the truth! But they won't understand that. No, they won't understand it." --from The Dream of a Ridiculous Man (1877) |

S.I. User ID: 1302430 United States 05/11/2011 03:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Who here really thinks that gas will go down back to any normal type of price…say under $3.00? It won’t happen with the exception, once the Presidential election gets closer, the President will force prices down, then say look, I was able to get this done for you, win votes and help with the reelection. Just look at past election campaigns, happens every time. If you don’t want to pay for high gas prices, then do just that, don’t pay. Ride a bike, walk, carpool, something. We all complain about it, but sit back and do nothing about it. Out of the thousand who read this post, 99% will do absolutely nothing about it except complain. So, let’s do that, nothing. Have TPTB keep raising prices, effecting the economy in total, until it finally collapses. Or we could write our Congressman, oh they are the same ones getting the kickbacks for big oil. Hmmm, who else could we write too? Uh, no one. Then what can we do? Stop driving and buying fuel…that is about the sum of it. Or you could have fuel shipped to you from a third world country, say Iraq or Brazil, where gas cost about 60 cents. |

Unfortunately for many suburbanites without metro service to other suburbs where they work, that is not an option. Maybe the people should stop investing in the stock market, it's obviously rigged and the outsiders always lose. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1379259 Ireland 05/11/2011 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lawmakers are headed for showdown over Big Oil Quoting: May 11th 2011 Lawmakers are spewing their best vitriol on oil all over the House and Senate floors this week, as Democrats and Republicans, spurred by record-setting gas prices, bicker over whether oil companies are poised to help save the economy, or tank it. In the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid is setting up a bill that would strip the five biggest oil companies — BP, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Exxon Mobil, and Shell — of extra tax breaks that he says are letting them reap first-quarter profits of $36 billion this year.
