"NEILL: Isaac Newton is probably the smartest human being that ever lived. He felt that God had placed him on earth, not only to figure out how the universe worked, but also… Something people didn’t realize, he was a Bible scholar, he knew all the ancient languages, especially Hebrew. He felt that he was placed here to find out when Jesus was going to return.
SID: Well I know that he came up with that Jesus would return by a certain year, but you were able, through all of this information, and you put it in the book, and I’ve been debating as to whether I should tease you or not, but I think I’m going to let you know the exact date that Sir Isaac Newton figured out, from studying Revelation, studying Daniel, that Jesus is going to return. And this doesn’t mean it’s correct, but it means the smartest man in the history of the world studying the most significant book in the history of the world, the Bible, this is what he came up with. What did he come up with?
NEILL: Isaac Newton studied all the books that you mentioned of prophecy, but the one that he really held onto is Daniel. He looked at the 9th chapter of Daniel. He interpreted the years that are there as prophetic years, each year being 7 years. But he took a different slant. Most people add up those years and come up with 483 years.
The add that up, come up with a time when Christ first returned. But he took a look at that last 49 years, and he also said that the Jews would one day return to their homeland. Now this is 300 years before that fact. And, that once they were in their homeland, that they would have Jerusalem as their capital again.
Now that occurred in 1967. And what he did is take the 49 years in Daniel 9, added those to 1967, he came up with a year. And he admonished people “We are not date-setters.” God’s word says that. He knew God’s word.SID: Of course.

But the year he came up with is 2016. Now some people will say 2060. He scratched that on a piece of paper. But he really felt 2016 would be the year of Jesus’ return.
