Many investors do not look further than the hours before them. Right now stocks have been correcting and short-term funds have been shifting in the USD (DXY) to make something of a sure bet. If the stocks turn-around, the USD will likely drop again. It is also possible, if things go really crazy in the world, that the USD will still be the safe-haven it has been for the last 60 years. Although the US has a major debt crisis, there are still many that argue the size, mass and maturity of the US economy gives it an edge still. |
