This is a realtime map depicting actual quakes as they are hitting (as opposed to what USGS posts later when it feels like it).

It helps to watch full screen. The combination of the color of the dots, frequency of occurrence, and sounds of the beeps tell a story. I'm no expert at reading nied4maps but I know it's telling us this area is suddenly very active now.

What's worrisome is this particular location (Kanto - subduction zone) and sheer number of these things going off now.

There was an article last month in the WSJ about the strong likelihood of a major earthquake hitting Tokyo between now and four years from now in the Kanto region and to watch out for lots of small quakes as the pre-cursor.

The way things are going it may be sooner than four years.

The article also states the following:
"...a large earthquake strikes in proportion to the number of smaller shakes — measuring about magnitude-3 to 5 — that break out in the region. In other words, the more small tremors there are, the greater the probability a devastating one will hit."

This is crazy, I have been up all night writing a paper, and was just about to go to bed when I looked at the EQ list. I was shocked at the number of 4's & 5's all over the globe.

I have been worried, with the dolphin issue, sun waking up some and all the meteors, etc., that we are in for some action globally speaking.

Well hell, I got to get some sleep. Will check back in when I get up; still have to finish the paper before tonight. I procrastinated on the damn thing, so my fault. Lol. I don't want to leave here, strange days for sure.
