MIT Calculates Odds Of Jesus Fulfilling 8 Old Testament Prophecies!
A Study Conducted at MIT

Many of the prophecies concerning the Messiah were totally beyond human control: Birth: Place, time, manner of Death: People's reactions, piercing of side, burial Resurrection: Where did His body go? By using the modern science of probability in reference to just eight of these prophecies, the chance that any man might have lived to fulfill all eight prophecies is one in 100 trillion!
To illustrate this point: If we take 100 trillion silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas, they would be two feet deep. Now we mark one of these silver dollars and thoroughly stir the whole mass--all over the state. Now blindfold a man and let him travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick only one silver dollar.

What chance would he have of picking the marked one? The same chance that the prophets would have of writing just eight of these prophecies and having them all come true for any one man if they had written them without God's inspiration!
The chance of any one man's fulfilling all of 48 prophecies is one in ten to the 157th power. The electron is about as small an object as we can imagine. If we had a cubic inch of these electrons and tried to count them, it would take us (at 250 per minute) 19,000 times 19,000 times 19,000 years to count them.
Now mark one of them and thoroughly stir it into the whole mass. What chance does our blindfolded man have of finding the right electron?

The same chance as one man of fulfilling 48 of the prophecies about Christ without His being the Son of God!
God is not the only one, however, who uses forecasts of future events to get people's attention. Satan does, too. Through clairvoyants (such as Jeanne Dixon and Edgar Cayce), mediums, spiritists, and others, come remarkable predictions, though rarely with more than about 60 percent accuracy, never with total accuracy.
Messages from Satan, furthermore, fail to match the detail of Bible prophecies, nor do they include a call to repentance.

So does Jesus, who is King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, need to use any evil vermin who are otherwise known as the greys/reptiles, insectoids, annunaki, fallen angels, pleidians or any any other off world miscreants/fallen angels etc, to create crop circles, and prepare humans for ascension, and to help Him bring His Kingdom into the earth?

I don't think so!

Wake up folks, you are being had by Crop Circles and New Age channeled Mumbo Jumbo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The purpose of Crop Circles is to deceive the gullible. The Reptiles are are here to serve you alright,...for dinner that is!

I'd like MIT calculate the odds against the fullfilment of over 100 prophecies contained within the scriptures.

Now I'll just sit back and watch the hate-spewing vermin start their attacks on the Bible. THEY HATE IT .. and cant bear to let the truth come out.

Re: MIT Calculates Odds Of Jesus Fulfilling 8 Old Testament Prophecies!
The fallacy in the argument is that these things were beyond human control. I'll give one example.

That he was pierced in the side. The prophecy was well known. Here's a guy hanging on a cross because he is supposedly the messiah. The followers of Christ are all blabbing about the prophecies being fulfilled and how they can't wait to see a Roman soldier stab him in the side with a spear. Roman soldier overhears, says what the hell (or what the hades I guess) and gives Jesus a good poke.

SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY.

Here's another example. Place of birth, Bethlehem. The entire Jewish nation, chafing under the boot of Rome, is anxious for a messiah to liberate them. Some of the religious nuts say that the prophecies are due to be fulfilled. One of them says that the messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Everyone knows this.

So guys look in the mirror - Could I be the messiah? Nah, I'm not born in Bethlehem. But how about everybody who was born around that time in that city? They say, hmm, maybe it could be me. And as we see around us every day, it's not uncommon for a man to develop a God complex.

SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY.

Then you have the concept of "prophecy" written after the fact and passed off as being written aforetime.

If all of these prophecies had been written in secret, sealed in a buried time capsule confirmed to have been well in advance of the events, and not uncovered until our day, then maybe you could make a point. But as soon as "prophecies" are published, all bets are off and mathematical "studies" like this are pure horse shit.

Are you kidding me , read the old testament prophets and their prophecies concerning Christ , how can that be self fore filling . Denial and delusion cloud your thinking process.
A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. †.

The Mathematical Odds of Jesus Fulfilling Prophecy
The following probabilities are taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963) to show that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability. Stoner says that by using the modern science of probability in reference to just eight prophecies, " we find that the chance that any man might have lived at that present time and fulfilled just eight of the 300 prophecies is 1 in 1017." That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that "we take 100,000,000,000,000,000 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas.

They will cover all of the state two feet deep. "Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing only these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man."

This is only supposing that we live in a free will universe. God created the Universe with a plan and destiny. He also created prophets. This means that we do not live in a free will universe. For prophecy to work at all, the future that will be must be viewable in the time dimension before it occurs. This means that it will have already occurred and is a part of the laid out and planned fabric of the universe. As there is a clear laid out plan which everything follows man has neither free will nor free choice. Every thing they think of as will and everything they perceive as a choice was according to the plan.

Therefore the concept of a randomized selection did not occur, and Jesus fulfilled his destiny, exactly as each of us ore bound to.

You are so right my friend. Sadly, misconceptions about free will has lead to many misconceptions about Christianity. There is free will in its true sense, but many people mistake free will for randomness.

Re: MIT Calculates Odds Of Jesus Fulfilling 8 Old Testament Prophecies!
I see that you can't provide a link to the supposed study by MIT on their own website? LOL

Okay enlightened one, what are the odds, you want proof of the odds, calculate them, I could care less if the odds were calculated at the funny farm, the point is, WHAT ARE THE ODDS? WHAT ARE THE ODDS? WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

If they are one in one hundred, one in a thousand or one in one million, what is the difference, it is humanly impossible to do what Jesus did!

You are an atheist and will go to any lengths to prove you are right in your beliefs. This is the game you are playing.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology [link to web.mit.edu] has never published any study with such results.

It's not M.I.T. but just another Xtardish myth.

That's an internet garbage written by Jerry Ballard
from "Fisher's Of Men Group" without a link to the source.

Can you find the alleged study on the MIT's official site [link to web.mit.edu] please?

Walk on water just once!

Raise the dead, just once!

Feed 5000 from a few loaves, just once!

Do you really expect anyone in their right mind, to pay any attention to your blasphemy of Almighty God, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Where is your claim to fame? Whats that? You don't have one?

Oh I see then..................

Where is the link to the MIT study?

The idea that it’s possible to “scientifically” prove that Jesus was the miracle-working God by using Bible alone is a classic error that religious zealots do - a circular “logic". If you start from assumption that all Biblical data are 100% factual - while ignoring any other data that might contradict them - then you can of course prove that the Bible is the factual truth.

BTW, I deeply respect Jesus teachings on love, compassion, forgiveness and peace; but I take them as my own spiritual truth, not the factual one.

Odds and probability are misdirections. They assume that we live in a probabilistic universe where things happen by random chance. This assumption is not necessarily correct. The other assumption is that there is a plan and everything happens according to the plan. We humans are limited in our view of space/time. We see only the ever-present present as we flow into it, and speculate about the future as if it has not happened. It only has not happened according to our view. All that will happen in the future to our view is already written into the fabric of the universe by God's plan. There is no free will or free choice other than in our perceptions that we are making them.
