They are just like women.

They want it ALL.

They won't be happy no matter WHAT you do for them, so it is better to simply STOP trying to please them. Take a stand, and tell them to FUCK OFF.

5. American black people are due reparations no matter what has become of the completely beaten down group of peoples who were originally enslaved and stolen from their lands.

Re: To all of you who have anything to say about Black people.
First of all slavery in the US did not go on for "hundreds of years". The nation was formed in 1776 and slavery was outlawed less than 100 years later.

Secondly, the reality is that if your ancestors had stayed in Africa, you would probably be worst off then you are now. The fact is that Africa is doing horribly. Thirdly, african americans should be proud of themselves, they are the descendants of people who had a horrible trip to America and who were subjected to slavery - genetically to survive that ordeal they must be very strong.

Finally, since the 70's black people have been busy blaming white society for all their problems, they have refused to take responsibility for drug use and all the other problems.
the fact is that other ethic groups who are people of color, come to america, work hard and do very very well. The Koreans couldn't get jobs - don't speak english well - and certainly are people of color = yet, I personally know koreans who opened up grocery stores, worked hard and their children are doctors and lawyers.

The other thing that hurts black people is the loss of manufacturing and blue collar work in this country. This affects the black community tremendously - and, frankly, most men don't want to get married unless they have a job. The rate of single parent families in the black community is way too high. It is hard enough to bring up children with two parents - one parent is brutal. This is a political issue - Clinton hurt manufacturing jobs with NAFTA and the present administration doesn't seem to be doing anything.

One more thing, the multi-cultural approach of the high schools and colleges is not helping the black community. I can't hire kids who speak black english - who have the attitude of the "hood". It's really impossible.

Blaming others and asking for reparations is not productive.
You are not getting any reparations. It is a ridiculous concept. If I were a black mother - I would push my son towards business - plumbers, electricians make a lot of money. I would not suggest trying to make it in the corporate world - it's a killer. I would tell my daughter to keep her legs closed, her mouth shut, and to get herself a career - if not college material, then something else - nursing, beautician.
I would also tell my children to stay on the straight and narrow - no drugs, no liquor none of that nonsense. Of course, if they were doctor or lawyer material I would push in that direction.

The fact is that the black community (I mean your average black person) has become more beset with problems in the last 30 years. In l965, it was racism that was black peoples worst enemy. Now it seems that they are their own worst enemy. AIDS, single mothers, etc. etc. Black people think white people have it so good- they are wrong - it's hard these days to make a living for a lot of people. But, the reality is that to succeed you must be responsible, hard-working - you don't have the luxury of succumbing to drugs and to stupidity.

And, by the way, I know more about black people than you might think - I am not going to explain why - but I do. Blacks have to get out of this blaming mentality - and, start working hard to get ahead. The other thing is that black people need to recognize that all people need psychological help - white people are always reading self-help books and seeing therapists for problems. The reason I bring this issue up is that the social problems besetting the black community (and I don't mean the well to do black community) of single parents and all the problems, create psychological problems - and, those problems hold you back --- My advice to you is start reading self-help books, join a church (or whatever you think best) where you will be with nice people - and, try to overcome your problems - if you can't get a job - think about your own business - there are a lot of groups out there to help - also, stay away from negative people - they will keep you down.

I wish you the best and I am confident that you can succeed - just devote your efforts to being the best you can be - open your eyes and look around the world - and, you will be surprised how you can change your life and yourself....

Re: To all of you who have anything to say about Black people.
Consider these few fine points:

1. American Black people are mainly descendants of peoples who were taken from their homelands and enslaved for multiple generations over hundreds of years.

2. Systematic indoctrination and "dumbing down" made certain that the future of the cultures and peoples taken would never again be of great intellectual or socioeconomic significance.

3. Institutionalized segregation from higher education opportunities and/or employment create incredible adversity for those of us who want so badly to change our predetermined poverty and perceived ignorance. (And yes, affirmative action helped but now reverse racism is just as bad)

4. Although there are many of us who have and will continue to make wonderful situations and opportunities of our lives, there are a vast many more who will never even know what it means to have conviction or determination, let alone even be able to spell the words.

5. American black people are due reparations no matter what has become of the completely beaten down group of peoples who were originally enslaved and stolen from their lands.

and one final point.

6. Most of the people who make comments about the activities, decisions or actions of American Black people, commonly have no contact with black people or an educated and experience-driven opinion worth listening to.

In closing,
I have no need to call names or point fingers, you who have made racist comments have done plenty of that. We are one race of beings and really need to start realizing that those of us who are systematically kept in certain socioeconomic and cultural positions deserve a little more understanding.

I myself have 2 bachelors degrees, graduated university with a 3.7 average after 6 years and currently have a magnificent and fulfilling career with my eyes on the future. Not all black people are as fortunate. But seriously guys and gals, take a step back and look at your own lives and try to realize that people who are told they will never amount to anything, will always think that way. Send them your positive thoughts instead of scathing, ignorant remarks and perhaps things would shift. The power of intention is boundless, limitless.

Who was the first legal slave owner in Virginia? A black man named Anthony Johnson.

Anthony Johnson was an Angolan African captured and sold as a slave but held as an indentured servant by a merchant in the Colony of Virginia
in 1620, but later freed to become a successful tobacco farmer and
owner of an African slave of his own. However on his death in 1670 a
court ruled that: "as a black man, Anthony Johnson was not a citizen of the colony", and allowed his lands to be seized.

Reparations? It's called welfare. But I guess that's not good enough because all races get that. Now you might not believe me but way back in the day if you didn't work you didn't eat. No sitting around on your lazy ass waiting for your welfare check and food stamps. And women hard at work poppin out babies so they can get more $$$. Once again, this statement applies to all races.

I worked retail in SoCal at a cheap low end retailer and we got a lot of customers who were black and most were decent folk but theres a percentage who are your disrespectfull loud obnoxious gang banger sort. Those people are animals. they would put gang graffiti all over the bathroom stalls and on the mirrors so we had to take all the mirrors out of the bathrooms. they would write on the walls with their own shit. big brown lettering. they would come through the check out and make all sorts of trouble with us. one even threatened to beat my ass if I didnt give him a discount. I have this fight club or taxi driver mindset. I was seriously tempted to go over that counter and pull his eyeballs out of his face and disembowl him with a box opener from my drawer. fuck those punks. they show no respect and they should die like in a charles bronson or dirty harry film. be disrespectfull at your own peril.

Hey, great post Johnny Boy.

And I might add, if you think it's bad for blacks, trying being a poor white person (because if you're poor and white, well there just isn't AN EXCUSE!).

Plus, aren't you forgetting one minor detail here in the history books, whites are the ones that freed your ancestors by instigating a Civil War over your ancestors slave labor.

This war not only killed unknown thousands of white soldiers, it bankrupted many white farms and states as well, and your ancestors were freed and given 40 acres and a mule. The alternatives explored at the time was to offer the slaves passage back to Africa, but they turned it down.

Ok, question: If blacks or African-Americans, whichever is preferred, despise America and whites so much, and think whites are overall the devil, then why do the white hating blacks stay in America and not go back to Africa?

If I were a purebred European (I'm not) and could gain access to another country (or origin) hell, I'd give it a whirl because I don't like what America is turning into, but it doesn't have anything to do with race; now if I were black and hated America and whites, why NOT give it a whirl and not be held back by perceived race/culture issues.

Seems sorta futile to keep fighting if you think you've been losing the past 150 years, I guess there is a time to waive the white flag and move on huh? Maybe try another country.

1. The black people were known to have captured and sold their own into slavery.

2. Blacks have the same opportunity for education that whites do. Don't like public school, fork out the bucks for private school. If I, as a single mom can do it, so can everybody else. Parents just have to put education above other priorities, which is why my kid watches tv on a set that was purchased in 1994.

3. There is no segregation from higher education. Fill out the paperwork and pay the fees. Trust me - all they are really interested in is the fee payment. If you have the money, you get in. If not, you don't. They don't care what color you are. Most don't even really care about highschool grades or achievement test scores once you get to about age 23.

4. That is their own fault and the fault of their parents, not of the white man.

5. American black people are due nothing from me, nor of anyone in my generation or my parents generation or my grandparents generation. Any reparations due should have been paid to those enslaved by those who enslaved them, not by generations to generations 150 years later.

6. LOL! If only you knew my background. I grew up in a Southern town that was predominately black. I had black friends. The white kids got out when they graduated (with the same education that the black kids received), got a job, worked through college, and made a life for themselves. The black ones just went and signed up for their checks, hooked up, and had babies. We all had the same education and same opportunities. And, don't say that the schools discriminated and didn't educate the black kids - the school board was predominately black as were most of the teachers.

By the way, I also have 2 bachelor's degrees, graduated with a 3.8 GPA from a private college that I went to on a full scholarship. I busted my ass to get a good score on the ACT so that I could go to college on a scholarship because that was the only way I'd be able to go. I still worked while in college for gas/food money. As to my 2nd degree, I paid for that one out of pocket as a non-traditional student, worked full time while going to school, and graduated with a 3.7 from a major public university all while raising a kid by myself. In addition to regular bills and tuition, I was paying almost $600/mo for gas because I was on the road so much between commuting to work and commuting to school. I had daycare expenses of $540/mo in addition to $200/mo for a nighttime babysitter for evenings that I had classes. Thankfully NONE of my professors docked me for missing class when I had to, which was quite a bit. I have zero debt other than a mortgage and left college without ever taking a student loan. Five years later, I now own 3 houses, two of which I had custom built. I raise a child by myself with no help from anybody else. I pay tuition for her primarily to keep her in a safe environment not because of curriculum. I know for a fact that you learn as much as you want, regardless of circumstances. I am 40 years old and will fully retire in 15 more years. I had NO perks for being white. I have worked my ass off for what I own and for all accomplishments I have made. So, to sit there and say that today's black people are due reparations for something that happened 150 years ago really chaps my ass.

Re: To all of you who have anything to say about Black people.
Man i swear yall so fuckin racist it aint funny. its 2011, we aint gotta sit at the back of the bus no more. Most of the problems between black and white people today, is alot of whites don't respect black people, we are the same as you, believe it or not we bleed, and shit the same, but yes in the jeans i am more impressive, other than that, look past the skin and we all the same. but im startin to think it aint no hope for billy bob, and willie ray, they stuck in the 50's

I swear you're all so fucking racist that it isn't even funny. It's 2011 and we do not have to sit at the back of the bus anymore. Most of the problems today between black and white people stem from a lack of respect. We all bleed and shit the same. Yes I have superior genes, but beyond that if we can look past skin color, then we're all the same. I'm starting to think that there isn't any hope for Billy Bob and Willie Ray, who seem to be stuck in some sort of 1950's time warp.

Re: To all of you who have anything to say about Black people.
there are more impoverished whites in the US then blacks

it's a numbers thing..as far as percentages are concerned, i'll lend some credence to your idea BUT here is the thing

it's been a loooong time since slavery and everyone makes choices for themselves..just like you did SO it can be done and if it isnt, its a choice and whitey isnt to blame..its the nigga in the hood who holds back the nigga in the hood first and foremost

for everyone else, its business as usual and by the way, YOUR kind, through all forms of media, do an exceptional job of holding your kind back and self actualizing nigga'ness

do something about it..sending "vibes" all day long amounts to SHIT ALL...action homie

The ironic part of this post stems from the fact that you left grammatical errors in your paragraph as well.

Re: To all of you who have anything to say about Black people.
Why don't blacks sue the ancestors of the original slave owners in a class action rather than expect innocent people who had nothing to do with the enslavement of their ancestors to pay?

Besides, ORIGINAL LAND OWNERS are paid reparations, not slaves.
And you charge keep and board for the slaves, take out their ship fare over, how much would they really have earned after their expenses are taken out anyway? My guess NONE.

And I know at least 3 Africans who would trade positions with an African American anyday. Maybe it's time to do a swap and see how well true Africans do in America with all the perks not available to them in Africa?
My guess is ....THEY'D DO VERY WELL.
Cause they don't have an entitlement hang up.
