No, they didn't. They didn't deserve to have their rights removed and voices silenced because they were moving their bodies in a rhythmic fashion in a public place. Where else will you be arrested for making rhythmic movement in public? Walking is rhythmic and could be considered dancing, how long until they arrest people for walking too rhythmically?

If the Cops tell you not do somthing or your going to be arrested,and you do it anyway you deserve it..

Washington DC in its entirety is what could be considered an office of the United States. No its not a state. But its the Seat of OUR government. But people seem to think its alright because they are not a "state". So we must bow down. Bullshit.

And dancing is a demonstration? What, exactly, is dancing a demonstration of? I'm all for respect, but there comes a point where I will not conform to what is being asked of me. That point is where armed thugs enforce laws that violate the basic rights of the citizens they are paid by to protect. The courts are not some almighty entity that tells you what to do or how to act, the courts interpret laws written and are supposed to kill the ones that do nothing or that have negative effects. They may have been asking to be arrested, but they still had the right to do what they did. The police officers were completely in the wrong doing what they did, they had no right to physically abuse the people that were moving rhythmically in a public place. The protesters weren't even "dancing" as dancing is defined as "To move rhythmically usually to music, using prescribed or improvised steps and gestures." as per [link to www.thefreedictionary.com] I couldn't find a legal definition of dancing, but I'm sure one is out there. Point is, they weren't dancing anymore than someone who is breathing is, as the breathing is rhythmic motion.

the only people I saw bothered by the spectacle were the protesters themselves, and the bystanders seemed to be appalled at the behaviour of the police. Go figure, the ones ruining decorum were the ones that were supposed to maintain it.
