That demonstration perfectly illustrated the absurdity of the law that prohibits dancing. what if some kid shows up the first time ever to the monument and gets excited to see the statue of Thomas jefferson and starts jumping up and down or just dancing out of sheer happiness? You think it's ok to throw the kid down and put him in handcuffs???

What was the law?

Actually after really reading into this this seemed to be staged by the people who were dancing, they already knew it was wrong. They were trying to make their point but in all due respect this was a museum for one of our founding fathers of this country and you need to show respect when your in their, it is their house and their letting you in as a guest so show respect. Our founding fathers made it so we can dance at clubs or in the park or anywhere but there. It's a matter of respect. I would not want someone to say dance at my grandmothers funeral, you need to show respect and that is where people like this are causing trouble cause they don't get it. This is what we are lacking Respect.

I'm shocked and horrified by these videos. If these cops don't get reprimanded then the America that I used to know, is definitely in the end times.

This was a all theater. Code pink are a bunch of agitators hired by tptb. They were over in Egypt before the revolution began. Don't be fooled.

It's understood that they continued to dance even after being told to stop so they get arrested. When you follow the logic of "if you break a law you're arrested" then it makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is the law in question. I sort of wish people who have been "they got what they deserved" understand the fact that dancing in itself is not a demonstration. It's not as if they were dancing while wearing tee shirts for a specific cause, or were singing songs about specific causes.

The main issue is the law itself. They danced knowing what would happen but it was to show that the law itself is yet another law that is simply a waste of time. It's a waste of time to the officers because I'm sure they are annoyed as anyone else. It's a waste of time for the protestors since for doing a small action (which apparently if two people hold each other and sway back and forth is being lewd. Apparently the person who made this comment has never seen a rap video) gets them arrested.

I think for me I get the rationale of "the cops were just doing their job" however my problem is that why is it their job to enforce such stupid laws? It's a waste of money unless that's the true motive of laws like this? The money earned from the legal fees and fines these people face? Sort of like how speed traps, and cops staking out on the streets for speeding increases at the end of the month when they need more revenue?

Who is this law protecting anyways? Who were these people actually harassing? Because like it or not, the cops escalated something that would have lasted at most ten minutes and they would have left. Plus if anyone did anything in bad taste (of the majority) then they'd probably get heckled out of the place right?
