Westboro Baptist Church Vows To Disrupt Protest...

by Alena Davis (freelance writer for quietstormcoming.com)

Westboro Baptist Church(WBC) members, have displayed outrage at many very touchy subjects in the recent past. Now, the Christian activists are at it again, vowing to disrupt a planned gathering at the Jefferson Memorial, by a group protesting a "No Dancing" policy by D.C. Park police regualtion.

WBC,adds to their list of dislikes, the act of dancing; calling it a Sin against Gods' word. I questioned one of the members, acting as a spokesperson for the church, who would only offer her first name as Nancy, as to what, if any, Biblical reference the church cited as justification. Her response was surprisingly, "We know scripture. And we study Gods word. We know that dancing is a sinful act of blasphemy against God." She turned briefly to look at the WBC pastor, apparently to see if he could offer scriptural justification, and then continued. "We will be there, not because of a Mans Law, but because we respect Gods Law."

As I mentioned earlier, WBC has been immersed in controversies ranging from extreme Homophobia, to praising the deaths of soldiers fighting overseas.

These declarations by the WBC, are in response to the recent cause, of a group of Anarchists, who began dancing at the Jefferson Memorial, in protest to a regulation by Park Police. D.C. Park Police cited several reasons for the enforcement of the regulation, to include "obvious signs of disturbing the peace and safety of others" as the basis. Several members of the anarchist group, were arrested and subsequently charged. Each violation could be deemed felonious under Law enforcement guidelines and the D.C. Court System.

We will update this story as more details become available.
