If you want to see the change in demeanor of people from 50 years ago and today go to you tube and watch some of the old You Bet Your Life's with Groucho Marks. There was a simple dignity and modesty to most of the contestants, a reserve that spoke of better character.

Today, they would try to out Groucho Groucho.
And after trying would have their own website about it called, lookatmelookatmedon'tyouwishyouwereme.com

i am one of these people, this is my favorite saying. i too despair for humanity.. you and i are friends on fb, a place where i hold back some for fear of giving even more to these personality types (my god theyre everywhere) where does it end? whats so wrong with honesty? bleh.. i dunno!!

And have you noticed that these same people who have wronged you will tell everyone how you wronged them or other in some way? They will even make things up to make you into a villain which in some way, in their minds, justifies not paying you back.

I have also noticed that many people brag about the ways they have taken advantage of people or the system. There was a time when it wasn't something to brag about.

Explain to me how my AV on the computer screen has anything to do with anything regarding the topic at hand? I really would like to hear why.

Quite simple really...

Whatever virtue or fiendish qualities people have its taking a back seat to the main prevalent basics.

The pivotal point of social prosperity is social cannibalism and distrust.

... Every effort is maintained to assure that climbing the social ladder without cut-throating is next to impossible.

How can that change when people constantly fight, distrust each other and expect the worst.

Most people are too confused to know better and all they can do is cling to the television's definition of normality. Few ever sit back and think on it to see it inevitably leads there if you follow it.

They can't be true, because they mutually condemn each other true face. So everybody is making the attempt to be a "socially" approved castrated version of them selves until they either decide to be outcast or just play a role that they think gets them where they want to go.

Most people I've ever met are less afraid of death than truth.

And honestly how many people have the guts today to be straightforward. Why do you think relationships stink. Most of them explode when mutual living inevitably exposes their true face behind the socially presentable facade.

For many its easier to grind babies into hamburgers than ever be vulnerable and do their best to improve.

Even the so called elites. Most of them are either too sadist or too indifferent to do anything else, but think them selves superior. But they like most people take their own urges and carry them out in the shadows, because its too much of a pain to look at your true face.

Everybody knows what they are. Most just indulge in the expensive illusion that pretending its not true or convincing other people that they are different is somehow make it go away.

Basic none thinking.

If you want to ever truly understand that:

Prepare your self two loafs of bread. Go out in the park and find pigeons. Start throwing crumbs at them. You will attract more. They will start beating each other up for the crumbs. Now throw them the entire bread, try to at least split it up. You will see that when there is enough they stop fighting.

Once you get to feel it and see it for your own eyes you will understand. It is superior to any explanation that can be given to you by philosophers, conspiracists, thinkers and such.

Just because humans get to drive cars and such doesn't mean they are any better than animals, especially those that have their reasoning ability turned off at all times.

Most go by life thinking that just because their meat suit has turned an age proper for a government ID card, they are somehow mature and can truly title them selves a sentient life forms, all the while acting out their entire lives without any consideration.

How many billions still operate under the notions that if they go to school, work and pay taxes somebody owes them and organized and care free living. Going to school and work means that you have gone to school, work. Neither that or paying taxes does ANYTHING about the other bazzilion expectations people have in life.

We've had plenty of time to see how people act in small disasters. They rush to the supermarket fight like berserk about a few bottles of water, take as much as they can without considering anybody else and try to run away with it.

Yes there is the occasional heroic effort, but put the numbers together. Which is more.

I have been in the USA 7 times, all together about 9 months. And yes, I felt like I was surrounded by soulless actors, empty shells, everyone pretending to be something, not 1 ounce of sincerity or authenticity.

And I went to all corners of the USA, it was a blot less in San Fransisco though. worst was Texas were everyone thinks they are some kind of king or queen up their own ass while they were just lame charicatures of what you see in bad Western movies.

Nope, just more Americans waking up to what 1286514 voiced and Portugal agreed with. Such awakenings just might be causing paranoia in others.

Nah just a question about personal and public ethics really.

Part of the problem is that as a society, we have changed our priorities as to what is really important. Instead of being concerned with "we", "me" has become our focus point.

I think that is partially due to the corporations search for bigger profits. They realized a long time ago that you can make more money selling goods and products to individuals, than you can selling and marketing to only families.

I say "partially", because I think that was always the corporations attempt, but we as a society had more of a moral backbone to resist such efforts many years ago.

Now, if you attempt to change the current paradigm, you "embrace socialism/communism (insert your favorite "ism" word here-->____). Once society becomes focused on the individual, they lose any power that they once had as a group.

Look at all of the people who cry out for us to "stand together", "work together", etc. With our current focus on ourselves (both in our communities and the marketplace), we will always remain powerless against the larger groups that have remained together (such as the government and big business).

Placing our own interests above those of our communities is a tool TPTB have skillfully enacted to keep us powerless, and the consumption tools (television, multimedia, cheap products that entertain us) are only one part of that strategy that keeps us docile and manageable.

Just "my" (super-important, hey! Look at me!) two cents.

im not real, if you see this is just your wild imagination playing games on you.

For the older people living now it goes back to the Cold War programming, “hidden enemies,” government spies, industrial spies, etc.

For the kids growing up with the internet it comes from “avatar” programming, faceless voices screaming obscenities at nobody in particular on the internet, for their cathartic fixes, because they can’t yell obscenities at their teachers, bosses, or anybody that holds financial powers over them.

It will get worse with time, because when the financial grips are released through abject poverty for all, people will no longer give a fuck what they say to anybody. It’s like people going to Walmart with skidmarked underwear exposed, because they just don’t give a fuck.
