The left (and I find it hilarious that anyone who makes more than say $40-50K a year would be a leftist anyway...) always whine on and on about "equality" and would enforce some version on all of us that would essentially make everyone EQUALLY miserable (see former Soviet Union and most Eastern Bloc countries under communism). Throwing oney down at those less fortunate and buying them free homes in nice areas would not work. Without the income for upkeep the news areas would soon turn to grafitti-covered ghettos. People do not value that which is handed to them for free.

The problem of course, is that we are NOT all born equal. Is the child born with Down´s Syndrome or Autistism or missing limbs the equal of one with a 160 IQ? Or one who is a gifted violin player? figure skater? Athlete? Of course not!!!

For example, I´m a smart guy and make a good living but I am reaching the limit of where I can go in my career because I have no "people skills". I am simply not management material because I am not comfortable with the amount of interpersonal communication required and the fact that I am a perfectionist and control freak means that I cannot handle delegating work that I am ultimately responsible for. In the same way that the 50 year old bum passed out drunk on the sidewalk is not my equal, those who have the skills, attitude and "guts" to start and manage businesses or design spacecraft or find cures for cancer are not my equals either.

To suggest that handing money out will solve poverty is ludicrous. In fact the opposite is true. In all great civilizations the unwashed masses outbred the visionaries and elites, and these civilizations all fell. The answer is to spend eve less on propping up the useless eaters and allowing only those with something to contribute to reproduce.
