Do people just have unrealistic expectations of their governments? Do we forget that humans are humans and nobody is perfect?

Everyone is always going like "oooh the government is evil" and stuff but aren't humans just humans? Do we hold regular human beings performing a very difficult job to standards that no human being could possibly live up to?

Is everything really a giant reptoid conspiracy of evil and crap or are people just people and other people forget about this fact?
