I was wondering if anyone here knows how the doctors diagnose Leukemia, what the symptoms are and do you know of anyone personally who has lived through it and how?

Thanks!hearts

Re: How do they diagnose Leukemia?
I knew a young man - 16 diagnosed by low number white cells, spinal tap and x rays to confirm..went through a therapy where his blood is sterilized and heated in a machine - he also had a kidney removed and part of his liver. It's been 10 years and he's better than ever - walks to work everyday happy and pain free now. Hope everything works out well.

Re: How do they diagnose Leukemia?
It depends on how they got it.

Typically it is genetic and is a result of a bit of “junk DNA” becoming active and producing carcinogens killing off all sorts of stuff. Of which there is no cure.

Sometimes though as is usually the case with adults as appose to children it is a result of exposure to some kind of toxin that artificially causes it or it alters the DNA.

If it is a problem with the DNA there is no cure you can only hold it off with good diet and chemo. Sometimes if it’s artificially induced it can be cured by getting whatever the toxin is out of you and then getting a blood & or bone marrow transfusion or removing any infected arias..

Symptoms vary, usually starts out with just feeling really sick and queasy, then progresses from there.

My Girl friend had it a while back and she fought it for 7 years before it finally took her life.

There are a variety of types, the general category is relating to white blood cell formation, usually after immature cell forms start appearing in the perpheral blood, they will check with a bone marrow biopsy.
There are variants for all the white blood cell types.
THe general defect is that immature or defective cell lines cause problems based on deficiencies in function of that cell line. Some are better treatable than others.
Google is likely your friend on this.

Re: How do they diagnose Leukemia?
SV40, murine leukemia virus, or MMTV or HTLV-1, causes T-cell leukemia and T-cell lymphoma. SAMe will fix it.

B cell leukemia is EBV. B cell leukemia is the most common leukemia. Vitamin A, lipoic acid, will fix it.
