What great depression would be complete without a Pretty Boy Floyd, a Clyde Barrow, Bonnie Parker, or a John Dillinger?

Pretty boy Floyd was loved by thousands as a folk hero. Floyd would often enter banks to rob them, and at the same time burn all the bank notes and loan papers for all the local farmers, setting them free from the bank slavery they had found themselves in during a rigged financial system.

They don't get it. When they push, and push and keep pushing, someone WILL push back.

Who could forget Frank and Jesse James who took on the big railroad men of the day. Men who were stealing land from farmers and ranchers with the help and authority of the Government in their pocket.

I think more people are snapping all the time, but you just don't hear about it. The weird thing is, I don't think this guy really snapped, it sounds like he made a clear and concise decision, and then executed that plan of action.

By the time they catch this guy, the system will probably collapse anyway.

At the end of a long day, the Sheriff will be sitting at home enjoying a Big Pork Chop, while this guy is sitting over a can of Baked Beans at ambient temperature. And the guy on the run, is enjoying more freedom than the guy with the Big Pork Chop. I'd much rather be running that enslaved like the LEO is.

If they don't catch him they'll never talk about it again.

He's in one of the most remote areas of the country.
He knows the terrain.
He could be anywhere in the United States by now.
He has a entire group of people who will probably help him out, and not turn him in.
He's also probably made plenty of contacts while in prison.
He's also motivated never to go back again, because he knows the law of the land has already let him down once before.

I think he's gone for good, but we'll see, he might not be as smart as what I give him credit for being. He might walk back to the bar and have a few drinks with friends.

The authorities want a placid unarmed population. They want a population that you can rape and still remain quiet, meek and afraid.

Based on the report at face value, he had a hit-list and illegal machine-gun. As a convicted felon these are not good portends for authorities.

But, in the interest of argument, law enforcement has been known to embellish in order to demonize people they deem undesirables.

Have to wait till it plays out to render an informed opinion.

I'll agree with that, it's really hard to sort through what is fact and fiction whenever your relying on police who may have started the fight, the media who we all have come to love and adore, and this one guy who may indeed be some crazed nut running around out in the wilderness whose side of the story you will never hear about.

With all that said, and with everything I've seen my Government doing lately I'm rooting for the nut running around in the wilderness.

What got Burgert in trouble? "It all started with an angry email last Thanksgiving weekend. Burgert, a seasoned search and rescue volunteer, circulated a rather profane and ill-advised email after a 14-year-old boy needlessly died of exposure. Probably in an effort to boost his chances for reelection in 2002, Sheriff Jim Dupont decided not to call search and rescue when it was learned the boy was missing. It reportedly took the sheriff and his deputies six hours just to find where the trail began. The boy had died of exposure by the time the inept sheriff found him. Burgert blamed the death on the sheriff because he and his crew, who know every rock and tree in the area and who should have been called, would have found him still alive.

There is more to it. Burgert had also taken the city of Kalispell and the county of Flathead to task on several occasions. He had also been serving civil process on corrupt local authorities. One might say that the local corruption had enough of Burgert and decided that he had to go.

The simple reason that there is more people locked up in other countries is because for what people get locked up here for, in other country's you would be executed. Hence, deal drugs, get your head blown off, steal bread, get your hand cut off.

I can guarantee if we did that here, we would have less idiots breaking the law. So, consider our pirsons a blessing and hope the offenders learn from their incarceration.

In upstate NY we had a guy shoot a trooper and he hid in the woods, evaded the cops for a while, till the most massive upstate NY manhunt of my lifetime ended in his death by gun fight. Funny thing was, the locals, who knew him for some time, covered for him and did not share information with the police. I even think some people were arrested for obstructing justice. The rest of the state of course thought this town was nuts, and filled with the most backwood of hicks, myself included. But, at the time I couldn't help but wonder why an entire region of towns would help a fugitive. Now I think back to then with my jaded filter i see through now and it seems obvious.
