Alexey: My mother lived kind of close to sites where Atomic bomb was tested before i was born. Since i was a little kid and until this day, i have issues with headaches, chest pains and stomach issues. And i was born at 85 same time when Chernobyl accident has happened. I was born in Moscow, so even a 1000 km away it had effect on people. As well as test sites which was as far as most Southern part of Japan would be from Fukushima. There is no safe Levels of radiation that is lies to calm people down.

Alexey: All the science people besides one, died from Stokres, or heart issue, after working in sarcophagus of Chernobyl NPP, which was the result of direct exposure to huge amounts of radiations, they was called bio robots, because they was doing what they are doing, only robots could do. Unfortunately i believe that Japan is doing nothing to localize issue. In Russia 600000 man was dispatched to save the country and the word. In japan 50... Makes no sense.

You are really sick,
do you really believe that only 50 People worked
in F'Shima?

You saw the Videos of J-Village,
do this look like 50 or 100 People?

Do you know, at least,
how many People worked in Daiichi before 03/11
on a regular Basis?

(in the first 9 Month after the Disaster started more
than 20.000 People were employed,
take this Times 40,
because they need at least 40 Years to dismantle the Plant,
and you see that more than
800.000 People, 200.000 more than in Chernobyl, will be active)

Japan to promote geothermal power generation
Japan's environment minister on Monday briefed energy company officials on the government's new geothermal power generation policy.

The government will ease restrictions on geothermal power development inside national parks. The decision was part of an energy policy review following last year's nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

Japan's volcanic geology is assumed to be rich in geothermal resources, but much of the energy is located under national parks, so it remains largely untapped.

Us govt buying massive amounts of POTASSIUM IODIDE TABLETS

Thread: Us govt buying massive amounts of POTASSIUM IODIDE TABLETS

looks like this was actioned on the 9th april from a requirement made 12/12/11 and includes the following text.

Quantity:  75,000 PG

•5.     The use of this authority is necessary because the USAMMA has submitted a MILSTRP for this item to ensure that critical operational forces are protected in the event of nuclear fallout.  The recent earthquake in Japan in March of 2011 and the resultant nuclear crisis has renewed interest in this item.

Anbex Inc. is the only FDA-approved manufacturer of the subject item. There are fourteen tablets in each package which will protect one adult for two weeks

<snip>

The FDA recommends potassium iodide (KI) for thyroid blocking in radiation emergencies.  It can be used to provide safe and effective protection against thyroid cancer caused by irradiation.

...

looks like they are just looking after themselves i guess.

glad i got a couple months supply a while back (march last year). maybe time to renew the perscription and then get some more lugols..

nice article by the earthquake-report:

Japan March 11 2011 Tsunami debris travel route in the Pacific Ocean (after 1 year) + video

When the monstrous tsunami of March 2011 struck the northeast coast of Japan, the retreating waves pulled many pieces of civilization and many lives out to sea. The Japanese government estimated that 5 million tons of debris was swept up by the event, with about 70 percent sinking to the sea floor and 1.5 million tons left floating. More than a year later, the debris from that tragedy is still drifting on the Pacific Ocean, though no one can say for sure how much and where.

The map below shows the output of the Surface Currents from Diagnostic (SCUD) model, an attempt to simulate where and how that debris would disperse. Orange and red shaded areas represent parcels of water with a high probably of containing floating debris. The deeper the red color, the higher the likely concentration. The debris field stretches roughly 5,000 kilometers by 2,000 kilometers across the North Pacific....

Calling all robot-makers! The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is calling on anyone who can advance current robot technology past existing limits to create an autonomous bot for the DOD’s “disaster recovery mission.”

“Robots played a supporting role in mitigating fallout from the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster in Japan, and are used by U.S. military forces as assistants for servicemembers in diffusing improvised explosive devices,” notes DARPA’s press statement.

The robots created by the teams will compete in a variety of challenges that simulate real-life disasters.

Kyoto unable to dispose of firewood from Iwate

The Yomiuri Shimbun

KYOTO--The Kyoto municipal government remains at a loss over how to dispose of radioactive firewood from Rikuzen-Takata, Iwate Prefecture. The firewood was supposed to be used for the city's Gozan no Okuribi festival last August, but was left unused as it contained high levels of radioactive cesium released from the crippled fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.

As the municipal government has yet to finish deliberations on safety standards for incinerating radiation-contaminated waste, it has no choice but to take custody of the wood, officials said.

Currently, 500 pieces of firewood made from pine logs from Rikuzen-Takata are stored in a concrete room at a Kyoto packing facility. Each bundle contains about 10 logs and is wrapped in two layers of plastic bags under a large PVC tarpaulin.

According to officials, just before the annual bonfire festival in August, in which firewood is set alight on the slopes of five mountains surrounding Kyoto, 1,130 becquerels of cesium were detected per kilogram of wood.

Mayor Tamotsu Baba said the Namie town government in Fukushima Prefecture is considering filing a criminal complaint over delays in the disclosure of radioactive material diffusion estimates under Japan’s SPEEDI system.

The local government will consider filing such a complaint on charges of professional negligence resulting in death, and may be leveled against central and prefectural government officials, but the municipality may not identify the targets of the complaints.

the amounts of irradiated materials already disposed of must be highly dangerous. Consider the personal levels of 500 Bq/Hr for humans and the thousands allowed for food and disposals... it is of no interest (apart from an historical perspective down the track), that these levels were elevated only to save face, and have nothing to do with the safety of any life form whatsoever....

Govt acknowledges need to resume Ohi nuclear plant
The Japanese government has decided that 2 reactors at the Ohi nuclear plant in western Japan need to be restarted to ensure that the region will not have a power shortage this summer.

The 2 reactors in Fukui Prefecture are currently offline for regular safety checks.

The final decision was made on Friday at a meeting of Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura, Nuclear Crisis Minister Goshi Hosono and industry minister Yukio Edano.
