The same government that lies to its people, right?

I can't think... so explain it to me how the jap .gov lies about most nuclear issues but tells the truth about contamination.

While you are at it, tell me how the reactors are still contained and yet radiation is being found everywhere in japan....? Hmmm? Ocean, air and water? Hmm? Fish, food and people? Hmm?

Is it from the SFP that you say is under control? Hmm?

Don't let the door hit you in the ass....

Recyclers get leg up in bidding
--Snip--
The ministry aims to begin the favorable treatment this month after finalizing specifics, including ways to confirm the safety of recycled cement in light of contamination with radioactive substances released from the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, the sources said.

Based on the system, construction companies applying to use recycled cement in public works bidding will have 2 points added to their scores under a comprehensive evaluation method in which bidders are rated in terms of bids and technical aspects on a scale of 130 to 200 points.

KODAK: US private reactor.... wtf?????

"For more than 30 years, Kodak Park was home to a little-known underground labyrinth containing a small nuclear research reactor, one of the few of its kind in the world.

It wasn’t a power plant, and carried no risk of explosion. Nothing ever leaked. Eastman Kodak Co. officials say the research device was perfectly safe.

Still, the reactor was locked down, remotely surveilled and tightly regulated — mainly because it contained 3½ pounds of highly enriched uranium.

That’s the material that nuclear bombs are made of. Terrorists covet it.

When Kodak decided six years ago to close down the device, still more scrutiny followed. Federal regulators made them submit detailed plans for removing the substance. When the highly enriched uranium was packaged into protective containers and spirited away in November 2007, armed guards were surely on hand.

All of this — construction of a bunker with two-foot-thick concrete walls, decades of research and esoteric quality control work with a neutron beam, the safeguarding and ultimate removal of one of the more feared substances on earth — was done pretty much without anyone in the Rochester community having a clue."

A vehicle that can be driven in radioactively contaminated areas has been shown to media.

The nuclear, biological and chemical reconnaissance vehicle was unveiled on Wednesday at a Ground Self-Defense Force post in Saitama City, north of Tokyo.

SDF officials say the vehicle has highly airtight armor and an air cleaning device, and can also be used in areas contaminated by toxic gases and bacteria.

Radioactive sludge disposal stalled
More than 32,000 tons of radioactive sludge from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident remain at initial storage sites, even though the government says its radiation levels are within safety limits.

NHK asked the prefectural office and 26 municipalities and other bodies in Fukushima how they are handling the sludge at their sewage facilities. The sludge in the area contains radioactive fallout from the nuclear accident.

NHK learned that about 80 percent of the 39,000 tons of sludge being kept at initial storage sites is within government safety limits and safe to process for more permanent disposal. But the sludge remains untouched due to fears among the local people.

He also uses Infrared (G) Spectroscopy to determine whether the suspected Uranium is Depleted Uranium or Natural Mined Uranium Oxide that had been used to coat the plates in the bright Orange glaze you can see in the video.

You should watch all of it 15.

“After March 11, more and more voices are saying that the market should be restructured,” says Iida. Last week, the Japanese government announced that it’s taking a controlling stake in TEPCO and injecting 1 trillion yen (US $12.5 billion) into the company; the bailout may eventually total as much as 11 trillion yen (about $138 billion).“If the government owns TEPCO,” says Iida, “it could start by restructuring the electricity market in TEPCO areas. Then the [whole] electricity market could be restructured. So this is a very drastic change going on.”

Hwang, 54, cleaned and painted used parts stolen from the plant's dump by an employee. He then sold them back to the plant, on three occasions since 2008, disguising them as new products.
Hwang pocketed some three billion won ($2.6 million) through the fraud, according to the court.

Kaieda cites poor communication in nuclear crisis
A former cabinet minister says communication problems were behind the government's failure to declare a state of emergency quickly after the start of last year's Fukushima nuclear accident.

Banri Kaieda, who was Economy, Trade and Industry Minister during the crisis, testified on Thursday at a Diet committee investigating the government's initial response last year.

Kaieda also recalled an utter lack of information sharing among officials. He said it seemed as if a game of Chinese whispers was going on between the prime minister's office, Tokyo Electric Power Company, and staff at the Fukushima power plant.
