No excuse for NRC to ignore spent fuel rods in re-licensing nuke plants

40 years after promising to provide a repository for the nation’s spent fuel, the federal government is no closer than it was 40 years ago.

So why on God’s green earth would the NRC go ahead and make re-licensing decisions that will only result in the creation of more of this toxic radioactive waste without taking into consideration the potential costs involved in keeping it safe or, heaven forbid, cleaning it up?
But that is just what the NRC is doing.
