TEPCO shows footage of tense conference scenes during nuclear crisis
Tokyo Electric Power Co. disclosed to the media on Monday video recordings of its teleconferences in the crucial first days of the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant in March last year, including footage of the then plant chief tensely reporting an emergency after a hydrogen explosion at the plant.

The video, taped from March 11 to 15 last year, also includes the visit of then Prime Minister Naoto Kan to the utility's headquarters during which he rebuked company officials. That entire portion of the video is inaudible, but it shows Kan speaking for over 10 minutes, with animated hand motions at points.

The utility, known as TEPCO, allowed the news media to view about 150 hours of footage of its teleconferences linking its headquarters in Tokyo, the Fukushima Daiichi and Fukushima Daini nuclear power plants in Fukushima Prefecture, and other locations.
