Noda starts examining possibility of zero nuclear dependency
Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda on Monday instructed his Cabinet to consider what kind of challenges the government would face if it decides to completely eliminate Japan's reliance on nuclear energy, national policy minister Motohisa Furukawa said.

The move came immediately after Noda in Hiroshima earlier in the day referred to the possibility of eventually abolishing all nuclear power plants in the country, the first time he has done so since taking office last September.
