Report suggests nuclear facility's problems are serious [ link to www.power-eng.com] [snip] The problems surrounding Southern California Edison's troubled San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station have been well-documented. But a new report by the nonprofit public policy group Committee to Bridge the Gap claims the situation is far more serious than has been reported. Dale Bridgenbaugh, a former nuclear engineer and manager for General Electric's nuclear division, wrote the forward for the Committee to Bridge the Gap's report. Bridgenbaugh said he has grave concerns about San Onofre. "It is my opinion that measures necessary for the future safe operation of either of these units have not been adequately put forth at this time, and that operation with or without reduced power of Unit 2 should not be authorized," he said.
