Cindy lies on the stand, and isn't considered a hostile witness or in contempt, because prosecution knows they can't attack a grieving parent/grandparent. However, defense knows this too, so I believed carefully planned this out this way, to poke holes for defense. Cindy & George are working with defense behind closed doors.
