Just slap some on your favorite bread. I add fresh ground black pepper and a pinch of sea salt. She always used lard from a HUGE tub she kept in a cabinet by the stove. I dont recommend that though...she died from heart disease. She wasnt overweight either. I guess all those years of gardening/farming helped. Quoting: Strangela You mean 'white beans'?? I clicked on this thread and the first word that caught my eye was 'sauerkraut'. My dad made the best sauerkraut ever. I was born in Germany, my mom was German, but my American dad made the best kraut. I was raised on pork chops and sauerkraut, and no, I'm not fat. Let it sit and simmer all day long. He use to take a huge pot of it to the nightclubs on the weekend, when he and my stepmom went dancing. A few times the band members would end up at our house and celebrate more--until the wee hours of the morning. Of course, they loved my dad, not only for his sauerkraut, but for the amphetamines he supplied them with. I remember the name of one of the bands--The Wild Things--I'm going to see if I can find any information on them. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
