Around 1999 the Federales crossed a bridge at Santa Theresa, NM and AND GOT INTO A FIREFIGHT WITH THE BORDER PATROL!
The abandoned one or two jeeps and ran back across the border.

People on the border have known this invasion has been happening for over a decade. The Federales come to the border and shoot up the hillside at night in remote regions riding shotgun for the drug runners. My friend who was a County cop in Hidalgo County, NM watched them with nite vision with another officer.
Obviously did not intervene.. far far far too out gunned.
