New Age is just another deception, along with Christianity, Judaism and every other religion and belief system on this planet. We are many and growing by the numbers every day.

the European ideas of hell came almost entirely from Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost.

Would you mind giving your thoughts on what the new age is. I have heard at least five different versions of what it is?

The new age to me is to Know Thyself meaning figuring out what we really are. We are all from God yet we have allowed others to control us from cradle to grave. Some are figuring this out and cleaning up their "Temples" instead of sitting in one that has been created by men.

We are electric beings and clean food and water will show this to anyone who takes the path of eating what God provides for us.

What you say about dante is correct, I believe, but also underlines what I was saying about the source of the common beliefs about hellfire being extra-biblical [and non-biblical].

Not too sure about Milton though. I've read that he was an extreme Bible scholar, refusing to accept church doctrine, or the word of any supposed Bible authority, but going over it slowly,systematically, and completely to determine for himself exactly what was really meant. The result ended up being so accurate, that one book published posthumously,[ and that only by the order of the King to a publisher who was terrified of backlash] caused a lot of embarassment for the church, and confusion for all. They couldn't really keep it quiet because he was held in such high esteem as England's greatest poet.

I don't really know if or what he said about a punishment after death [trying to post this fast] but Bible says "The wages sin pays is death." Hell is "the grave", nothing more. I know Milton figured out that man does not have an immortal soul, that cannot die which is part of hellfire teaching, but that "the dead are conscious of nothing at all" as bible says. Their only hope lies in God resurrecting them.

This topic reminds me of a Dutch New Age forum that I utterly destroyed over a decade ago. While I didn't much wrong there I talked a tad too much about Freemasons and the New Age movement, and there was a member on that forum whom started to troll me, after it got worse and worse the forum admin and moderators decided that I need to be banned due to the behavior of the troll, only to see the forum taken down sometime later after I was banned.
