My now thirty year old son was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphocytic leukemia) at age four. He was part of a multi-drug chemotherapy - some old, some new - trial that lasted five years but actually took almost seven to complete. In conjunction I used nutrition, guided imagery and probably desperate love of my child to support him in every way. He survived and is a beautiful human being, intelligent, good looking and very even keeled in his approach to life. I did not like the medicines he had to be subjected to but they saved his life. I don't know if I would have the courage to subject myself to that kind of torture if the situation arose.
