I have a 1 year old and I didn't get the flu vax while pregnant (or ever in my life). While pregnant during cold/flu season, I just used common-sense precautions: wash hands frequently and thoroughly avoid crowded places like the mall take at least 5,000 IU vitamin D daily eat lots of protein use saline nasal rinse or neti pot to clear the sinus passages consume probiotics like those found in yogurt
one of the best things you can do for your little one is to breastfeed, especially through the cold and flu season. Your body will make antibodies for them when they are sick.
My son hasn't been vaxed and he's had one cold and that's it... no ear infections, no flu, no tummy bugs. He is super healthy. The kids he plays with have been vaxed and they frequently have colds and ear infections... could be coincidence of course, but it's hard not to wonder if there's a connection.
