Smart meters: Avoid implied consent to this surveillance device
Everyone needs to check your electric meter, especially if it has been changed recently. If an FCC number appears on the face, you are under surveillance. The smart meter transmits a constant stream of information to the power provider. This information includes when you are awake, when you sleep and everything you do in between. It informs the provider constantly about all activity in your house.
Anyone who cares to buy the information transmitted by your meter may do so. The police, insurance companies, actually anyone who comes to think they must have an interest in what you are doing in the privacy of your home. Since these meters are radio devices this amounts to warrantless wiretapping. It is the ultimate surveillance system.

While these devices are installed with the false promise of reducing your power bill, the truth will hit you full force when you open the first bill you receive after installation of the smart meter. Your power bill will have doubled, minimally, but more likely, quadrupled.

Here is a brief clip from the certified letter that you must send to the power company, certified mail, prohibiting the installation of a smart meter on your home or apartment:

8. It is possible for example, with analysis of certain “Smart Meter” data, for unauthorized and distant parties to determine medical conditions, sexual activities, physical locations of persons within the home, vacancy patterns and personal information and habits of the occupants.

More than 15 million homes are already under total surveillance.

So what can you do to protect yourself from a surveillance free-for-all? You copy and send this letter below, retrieved from minivanjack’s YouTube channel, as certified legal copy of your refusal to allow the meter company implied consent.

NOTICE OF NO CONSENT TO TRESPASS AND SURVEILLANCE, NOTICE OF LIABILITY
Dear (Energy Provider) and all agents, officers, employees, contractors and interested parties,
If you intend to install a “Smart Meter” or any activity monitoring device at the above address, you and all other parties are hereby denied consent for installation and use of all such device on the above property and installation and use of any activity monitoring device is hereby refused and prohibited. Informed consent is legally required for installation of any surveillance device and any device that will collect and transmit private and personal data to undisclosed and unauthorized parties for undisclosed and unauthorized purposes. Authorization for sharing of personal and private information may only be given by the originator and subject of that information. That authorization is hereby denied and refused with regard to the above property and all its occupants. “Smart Meters” violate the law and cause endangerment to residents by the following factors:

1. They individually identify electrical devices inside the home and record when they are operated causing invasion of privacy.

2. They monitor household activity and occupancy in violation of rights and domestic security.

3. They transmit wireless signals which may be intercepted by unauthorized and unknown parties. Those signals can be used to monitor behavior and occupancy and they can be used by criminals to aid criminal activity against the occupants.

4. Data about occupant’s daily habits and activities are collected, recorded and stored in permanent databases which are accessed by parties not authorized or invited to know and share that private data.

5. Those with access to the smart meter databases can review a permanent history of household activities complete with calendar and time-of-day metrics to gain a highly invasive and detailed view of the lives of the occupants.

6. Those databases may be shared with, or fall into the hands of criminals, blackmailers, law enforcement, private hackers of wireless transmissions, power company employees, and other unidentified parties who may act against the interests of the occupants under metered surveillance.

7. “Smart Meters” are, by definition, surveillance devices which violate Federal and State wiretapping laws by recording and storing databases of private and personal activities and behaviors without the consent or knowledge of those people who are monitored.

8. It is possible for example, with analysis of certain “Smart Meter” data, for unauthorized and distant parties to determine medical conditions, sexual activities, physical locations of persons within the home, vacancy patterns and personal information and habits of the occupants.

9. Your company has not adequately disclosed the particular recording and transmission capabilities of the smart meter, or the extent of the data that will be recorded, stored and shared, or the purposes to which the data will and will not be put.

I forbid, refuse and deny consent of any installation and use of any monitoring, eavesdropping, and surveillance devices on my property, my place of residence and my place of occupancy. That applies to and includes “Smart Meters” and activity monitoring devices of any and all kinds. Any attempt to install any such device directed at me, other inhabitants, guests, my property or residence will constitute trespass, stalking, wiretapping and unlawful surveillance, all prohibited and punishable by law through criminal and civil complaints. All persons, government agencies and private organizations responsible for installing or operating monitoring devices directed at or recording my activities, which I have not specifically authorized in writing, will be fully liable for any violations, intrusions, harm or negative consequences caused or made possible by those devices whether those negative consequences are justified by “law” or not..

I like a smarter and less wasteful grid. I like to know how much I use.

I have one on my house and my bill did not go up more than before it was installed. I do however get a letter from AEP that tells me I am using more electricity than my neighbors. Why would they care, I pay my bill.

You can easily check how much you use by looking at your analog power meter.
The grid is not going to be less wasteful, thats just not ow it works.

It`s about surveillance - not about power saving or cleaning up the planet.
And you are right - it´s not left wing propaganda. In reality there is no left or right wing. It`s just a facade, a fairy tail, told by TPTB - to polarize opinion.

This is such bullshit. I've had a smart meter for about 4 months now and my power bill hasn't gone up any at all. As for them knowing when i jack off and if my shit stank that morning, care to explain how they would know this from a meter on the outside of the house?

This should be good.

I don't know, this issue has been posted many times. I even think this ron paul avatar did a few of them. It means it is being pushed as a false environmentalism thing by probably the right. It is pushed as a smart grid, less wasteful thing by the left.

So if left and right are the same, what do they actually want concerning these meters?

Yes, I have an FCC ID number on my electric smart meter which I have had since around April 2011.

NO, my electric bill is half of what it was last summer and I live in Texas so it has helped my budget. I was shocked at how low it is and keep waiting for them to spring me with a "we screwed up and you actually owe us more" letter.

Re: Smart meters: Avoid implied consent to this surveillance device
The smart meter can recognize every individual piece of electrical equipment in your house and how far it is from the meter.

Coupled with computers, the data can be sorted and organized. Alarm clocks, coffee makers, bath fans, computers, cell phones, automatic garage doors, etc. Combining the data would allow the house to be mapped and behavior patterns of occupants to be recognized.

Seemingly benign, on the surface, it is a form of surveillance. Once the technology is in place, the possibility for abuse exists.

It has been speculated that extremely short power outages, of 1-2 seconds, are key in identifying equipment from their unique signatures when they power back on.

One more thing to be paranoid about. Just great.

I like a smarter and less wasteful grid. I like to know how much I use.

I don't like people who have been told environmentalism is left wing propaganda and there is no problem, and who believe it and hamper every move to clean up our planet.

Re: Smart meters: Avoid implied consent to this surveillance device
This is such bullshit. I've had a smart meter for about 4 months now and my power bill hasn't gone up any at all. As for them knowing when i jack off and if my shit stank that morning, care to explain how they would know this from a meter on the outside of the house?

This should be good.

Ranked from High likelyhood to low

It is probably possible to tell what appliance is running by its current draw and the type of noise it adds to signal.

It is of course possible see what is on a CRT screen by the EMP from the electron gun. LED and plasma screens don't have this problem.

If the smart meter is listening for wireless networks it is possible to tap in.
