SEATTLE -- A low-flying helicopter was making the rounds around Seattle Tuesday as part of its mission for the Washington Department of Health

The department says the goal is to get a baseline reading of radiation levels in the Seattle area, so in case there is a nuclear event, it has a comparison.

Its search team will also look for high levels now.

bumping this I do think the Japan disaster and the Nuke plants have pretty much fallen by the way side. This could be a good way of depopulize us among other things.

We keep hearing of stories in the news about differant things effected by radiation from Japan but then its dropped. This could be what kills of 1/3 of the earth then the other oil spill on the eastern side. Hell so much to take in for sure you'd better stock up on food it will get ugly in the not so near future

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Remote Sensing Laboratory Aerial Measurement System, overseen by The Department Of Homeland Security, will be used during aerial radiation readings in Washington State that may be classified for national security purposes.

I read that yesterday. I was actually pinned. I have no idea why that would even be classified for national security purposes. That makes no sense.

You always have to get a baseline for anything your tracking but yea I thought the same thing. "They should of started this right after the first problems witht the plant but now hey they are just saying they want one in case we have a problem here in the US. WHATEVA

Maybe something more and this story is THE cover up... They are looking for a dirty bomb? I think the helicopter is just flying over Seattle and Tacoma. that is hardly the whole Puget Sound region. Just something more for us all to think about.
