When did you choose to be straight?

This family moved in down the road from me years ago, they had 3 kids (2 boys and a girl). They were all close in age. Probably around 6-7-8 when they first moved in. Well I use to occasionally run into them when I'd be out walking and they were on their bikes. Some time went by and I guess because of my work schedule or whatever I didn't see them. Then one day I ran into one of the boys when I was walking and I could tell a difference. He was feminine. I thought to myself, he's gay and probably doesn't even know it. Then more time went by, and I saw him again when he was in his teens. By then it was blatant that he was either gay or transgender (I've never seen him with a guy - only his female friends). But , this experience (which is the only experience I've ever had with anything like this) told me that at least some kids can become this way at a young age.

I'm not posting this to prove or debunk any theories.. which I'm not even informed on outside the born or not born. Which I'm not certain of either way. Nor does this prove either way, in this instance, because when I first met him he showed no sings, second time I could tell, and later on my thought was just affirmed that he was .. either gay or transgender. I don't know which. Never been around him long enough to ask. I would though - I'm not worried about offending. But the opportunity has just never presented itself. The only reason I remember his name to this day and not his siblings is because of the way he told it to me when he was small. He called out his entire name. lol
