I'll probably regret posting this.........
The past few weeks, my bigscreen television has been turning itself on every morning at 6:00 a.m.
Being the techno-tard that I am, I've been unable to figure out how to re-set the timer on it. So, every morning I have to physically shut the dumb thing off myself. It never really powers off, just goes into something like standby mode...

Yes - I have followed the manual's instructions....and no - I don't get up to turn off the tv....I am usually up before then anyway. I've used the remote to turn the timer to the "off" setting - to no avail. It's something that I usually don't think about - having forgotten about the nuisance a few minutes after turning it off. And if it really bothered me - I'd do more about it. And - not meaning to be mean or nasty myself, I really only posted this because of the telephone ringing that occurred this morning. That has never happened before and I was just curious to see if anyone could explain why it did....my human existence and mental abilities have apparently not prepared me for a ringing television.
