WTH - Is there a telephone in my big screen? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1466427 United Kingdom 07/16/2011 08:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | no it won't/doesn't, regardless of appliance model, this would NEVER happen. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1466427Riggghhht... And the clock never flashes when the power goes off... it wouldn't reset a timer by unplugging any unit. It would stop a timer working, but would not reset it. you have to get the wording right otherwise you can't have a discussion |
miffed_33 User ID: 1463216 Australia 07/16/2011 08:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't suppose unplugging it occurred to anyone? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 780016Well - I can unplug it, sure - but I don't usually, because when my husband gets home we are all sleeping and he watches dvd's before going to bed. Then, when my kids get up, they usually want a dvd to watch. Anyway, my question was more about the ringing telephone than how to make the tv stop turning on..... Unplugging for a few minutes will usually reset the unit to 'factory default' settings... No more turny ony...No more ringy ringy... MmmKay? So - what is that "ringy ringy" thing? Any ideas on that? oh my god I had to have a laugh after this exchange (thanks for that lol) |
Dried Up Hag (OP) User ID: 1443836 United States 07/16/2011 08:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a Zenith R50W47c...... Quoting: Dried Up HagGlad I don't have that TV! That is some creepy shit, you could totally write are horror plot just around that. Imagine just walking around everywhere and fucking televisions ringing at you, and here is the clincher, only you hear it. Also, the only way to make it stop is to answer it and have a conversation with an evil entity on the other line.... OOoooooo E ooooo Spooky shit! My explanation, is I (maybe you too) can hear this uber-high pitched whining noise coming from TV's (especially CRT's or tube TV's) when I'm in the vicinity. Maybe that combined with a ceiling fan to oscillate it. IDK Well - yeah I do hear that high pitch sound your talking about. |

Have you tried the customer service number? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1463341Not yet....my husband is not home yet with the cell phone, so I have to wait until after 9 am......I'll try that though, thanks. what I don't understand is why you only have 1 mobile between you & no land line? Am I understanding this correctly? what if you have an emergency & need to ring for help?? If your husband has the only form of phone with HIM, you need a new husband imo. I would never let my wife be without a phone (even though I hate mobiles), from a safety pov you need one, especially if you are a woman. op, did you see this post btw? seriously I hope this sin't the case for you. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1453103 United States 07/16/2011 08:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have never experienced or heard of such a thing...perhaps it's some sort of an alarm on the TV? IDK why it would suddenly have been activated, though. I know that didn't help, but I thought I would address your expressed curiosity regarding the source of the ringing rather than insult your intelligence, husband, choices in life, etc. Bet you weren't prepared to be taken to task for asking a simple question! lol |

Normally, I have the phone......but he commutes quite a distance to work and yesterday the car was acting up, so I insisted he take it with him for once. As a man, husband & father, I would NEVER do that. I always come last wrt everything & that's the way it should be imo. I always get get the chicken legs, whilst my children, then wife got the better cuts..... |
