Just don't sell it until you have a replacement currency that is backed by gold. This will not be the currency that replaces USD and Euro, as those replacements will also fail soon after, but many will have sold all their gold for the first replacement. Smart plan actually. Make people believe they survived the collapse and made it out great, just to get em in the second run... Gotta admire the evil planners
