One of those Weird Clock Things
Had a weird thing happen with just one of the digital alarm clocks. It's in our bedroom, the door of which is kept locked due to problems with one of our kids, so only me or my husband have access to it. He swears blind he didn't touch the time and I certainly didn't. To alter the time you have to hold down a different button and "click" the other knob round, so you would know if you had done that. Anyway, this morning it was 25 minutes fast!!!!

Very strange!

Still, at least I'm up and posting nice and early, and it wasn't the cat's fault for once:))

Re: One of those Weird Clock Things
I never get that, though my coffee pot is 1 hour ahead atm, but thats no surprise, because you don't need to hold a button in when you change the time, so If i nudge it, or wipe it with a washcloth, it can get changed.

However, all my digital clocks keep falling behind. 2 digital alarm clocks, microwave, coffee pot, stove, and even my piece of crap made in china digital watch is 2 mins behind again.
I set them, and after a month or two, they're all behind the time on my computer. 3 or four months ago I noticed they we're all out of wack by a few mins, so I synchronized them, but the power went out a few times since, and the last time, three weeks ago, I didn't try to get them all on the same minute. So, I'm gonna leave em like this and see, unless the power goes out agin before long that is.

That's why I thought it was a bit odd as I would have thought if there was anything wrong with the power etc, it would have lost time and not gained it, and it would have affected the other clocks too.

Still, weird things happen!

Just thought I'd bump this in case anyone has an explanation. The only thing I can think of is sleep-walking, except that neither of us sleep-walk.

Re: One of those Weird Clock Things
Our planet's rotation is slowing due to magnetic friction. Thus there are more than 1440 minutes in a day. Which also means there are fewer days in a year (but they are longer days). That's why the Sun rose two DAYS early in the north. It rose right on time in terms of the number of MINUTES that had elapsed.

They're trying to hide this from us with the atomic clock and auto-syncing time devices, as well as the occasional strategic power outage to force people to manually reset non-syncing clocks. But still, there are discrepancies, as you have noticed, and others around the world have noticed as well.

Re: One of those Weird Clock Things
Happened again this morning, ten minutes gained. It must be the clock, although I don't understand how it gains time rather than loses it?

Got a bit freaked out as when I came downstairs the normal carriage clock had lost ten minutes - just hoping it's 'cause the battery is wearing down on that one, either that or I'm just going plain old crazy.:)))))

We have had that happen this year, 2-3 times, digital clocks. I heard it has something to do with a magnetic disturbance in the area/atmosphere, whatever. Not too sure. Things are freaky all around.

Thank goodness for that, it's not just me then. Things are definitely changing.
