I´m not sure if it was a banshee, but about three weeks ago I heard and ungodly shriek at about 4:30 am. Came from a wooded area near my house. I´m not far from Jersey Devil territory!

I´ve never heard one myself but my parents claimed they heard one way back in the late forties in Liverpool, UK.

They described a warm, still summer evening suddenly rent by a strong wind and sound that was like a woman shrieking. That evening a neighbour woman died. She had previously stated that she saw a woman combing her long hair, sitting on her window sill.

It´s said that only people of Celtic extraction can hear the Banshee.

I have heard the banshee - it wasn't really loud. There was a death within two weeks afterward, both times.

I really don't have an explanation -just know the sound I heard. It seems to come from the air and not a kid and not a cat...

Yep on Saturday night - I got out of the taxi to find my house full of really drunk teenagers having a huge party.

The banshee was heard all down the street....... the teenagers were terrified and scuttled back into their holes.
