This is bullshit. If you want to help, we can prove it.

Challenge the letter-writer to produce a copy of the FOIA correspondence. He states that he doesn´t want to release the actual files because they don´t belong to him, so ask him to make available the letters that were supposedly written to him concerning the files. Surely a cover letter from a government office, addressed to Mr. Nightshade, is his property, not someone else´s. Let´s see it. Scan it and post it. Leave his name and address out of it , if need be, but show it. (If there are two boxes of files about Dan Crain, I will eat my living room carpet.)

One of you---or both of you--should post something that asks Mr. Nightshade to share his personal paperwork. If these letters exist, they will indicate which agency or entity produced the files. The National Archives, my ass. The Archives stores stuff, but is not the ultimate source of government documents. In the unlikely event that Nightshade complies with this request, I can file my own FOIA request and seek a waiver of the fees. Since the material has already been accumulated, supposedly, there should be no problem in getting a subsequent release in a timely fashion. In general, fees are waived if the request comes from a legitimate news organization. In the unlikely event that the files really exist and the request for fees stands, I will pay for it out of my own pocket. Feel free to make this offer, if you choose, although you don´t have to mention that I will be the person who will write the check. Just say you have your own benefactor.

The recent blizzard of p.r. crap from these folks is amazing. They always manage to create a moving target, without ever addressing the questions that were posited earlier. Are you game?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I´m honored that you have taken interest in myself and our cause to expose the Dan Burisch hoax. I have personally admired many of you from afar in your tireless effort to bring the UFO phenomena and its implications for mankind to the attention of mainstream science and media. Thus, its truly flattering to me to see those I have long admired from afar take interest in my humble postings in regard to the Dan Burisch saga. Indeed, I could honesty say many of your individual works were the direct inspiration for me to get involved in the UFO Community back in late 1980s and early 1990s when I personally joined MUFON for the short time I was a member.

Yet, ladies and gentlemen I quickly learned the dirty secret of state of affairs in the American Ufology community. That secret being research and investigation of the UFO phenomena had taken a back seat, a back burner; if you will, to one-up-menship, showmanship and personality conflict flame wars among its leadership. Where are the days of hard hitting investigation of professionalism? Where is the spirit of Major Donald E. Keyhoe of the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (N.I.C.A.P) of the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (A.P.R.O) of the 1960s and 1970s? The professionals of ufology? I ask you ladies and gentlemen where is that spirit, that unity, that determination today in our American Ufology Community today?

No ladies and gentlemen I did not find it then in the early 1990s when I left M.U.F.O.N and we sure do not find it today in American Ufology. What my associates and I find we can not put into polite terms nor do we have a desire to take part in the gaudy side show of what American Ufology has become.
