What's the point of a coming public statement by Dr Burisch when its credibility depends upon his being able to prove who he was as well as what he did? Like Bob Lazar, he will be unable to provide this proof to the level of satisfaction of the news media and many people because his past employers would, surely, NEVER supply documentary evidence of highly classified research. No public proof has been given (yet) even of his Ph.D degree! Accepting that such revelations have the support of some members of Majestic who want a degree of public disclosure about aliens/UFOs, are they also going to provide irrefutible proof that Dr Burisch worked for them? I don't think so! That would amount to official, making public of the very existence of this highly secret government organization - something which never happens with such agencies. As much as I would like to see it happen because - like many others - I disapprove of the existence of elitist, undemocratically appointed groups that hog information and become a power unto themselves, I cannot see this self-disclosure - even by a few members of Majestic - happening voluntarily. Therefore, I cannot understand how Burisch will ever be able to substantiate his claims, which, being extraordinary, require extraordinary evidence that he will not be allowed to give and which will not be given voluntarily by his employers.

As I see it, the problem for Burisch is that, although I can believe that some part of what he knows will be made available to all, I cannot see how the proof of its truth would be permitted as well, as this would open up a Pandora's Box of consequences and awkward questions that Majestic could not risk entering the public arena without undermining its very existence and purpose. Without that degree of proof, the media don't (and won't) have to take his claims seriously. So what's the point of it all? Just a book or CD-Rom to be issued to believers and to the curious? We deserve more than that.

Please understand that I am no sceptic. I am sympathetic to Dan Burisch's cause. It is just that I wonder what he thinks he is going to achieve by his 'coming out.' I would be grateful if, perhaps, a member of his team could explain. By the way, I am a theoretical physicist who has thought much about the implications for physics of Burisch's research, supposing that it can be taken at its face value.
