There have been swarms of quakes in CA for a few weeks. As stated, these are not aftershocks. Please pay attention to just northeast of San Diego. Many swarms since last week that are gaining in intensity. The entire plate is worrisome now, but watch these swarms.

The Salton Sea area is overdue a big one ( which I know is also connected to the Gulf system ).
Danger is around every corner if this zone decides to kick off. There have been bigger quakes in the Gulf of late with no repercussions, but who knows when it will all kick off.
What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

Re: 5.5 Earthquake Gulf of California. Upgraded to 5.9!!!
and the 4.3 is not an after shock
because the 5.9 was not the main quake

we learn from the Japan 9.0

everyone made the mistake of thinking the 7.2 Japan quake on March 9th was the main quake and the 6.0, 6.2 and the 6.1 were all after shocks
[link to www.emsc-csem.org]

now click back a few pages to see wth led up to the 7.2 that led to the 6's that led to the 9

we see on:
March 6th a 4.7, 5.1 and a 5.0 BONIN ISLANDS, JAPAN REGION, as well as two 4.8
March 7th, a 4.9, 5.0 RYUKYU ISLANDS, JAPAN
March 8th, nothing over 4.5

March 9th 2011, 2 days before the 9.0, we saw in japan
a 7.2 at 02:45 utc [link to www.emsc-csem.org]
then on the same day at 18:16 utc there was a 6.0, a half hour later a 6.2, then a 6.1 2 1/2 hours later
[link to www.emsc-csem.org]
with a bunch of 4.5-5.9 between them all

March 10th we then see a 4.9 OFF EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN
then a 4.6, 4.8, 5.7, 4.9, 5.4, 5.3, 5.3, 4.7,
with the last quake before the big 9.0 being
2011-03-10 22:44:25.0 38.85 N 143.07 E 30 mb
5.0 OFF EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN
nothing at all for that region for the next 6hrs then
2011-03-11 05:46:23.0 38.30 N 142.50 E 22 Mw
9.0 NEAR EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN

my point with throwing all this out there is that we need to stay alert to all these quakes and not assume that just because a quake might look big to us, like a 7.2 and assuming all following quakes being aftershocks
there are still bigger quakes and it all depends on how fragile the crust is in that paticular region

look at this :

[link to pasadena.wr.usgs.gov]
click on todays date in different cities, will prove this:

*effects from the mexico quake were registered all the way to the middle of california, maybe further!

the really interesting areas are: ellis, mt.san jacinto, newberry springs(where the "volcano" is), pasadena, pardee,
rancho palos verdes, salton city, and riverside. these places are all moving, shaking today. but usgs ignores these quakes?

Re: 5.5 Earthquake Gulf of California. Upgraded to 5.9!!!
what worries me about the gulf area is that they have been having bigger ones in the last few months or longer. 4's, 5's. Some would say this is good because it's releasing pressure. The way i see it is, if there is THAT much pressure going on that multiple 4's and 5's still haven't alleviated it and they still keep happening - there is something bigger brewing....
then again you can't ever make sense of it because quakes like Northridge just come out of the blue, no precursors. you got eye on one area and then another will catch you off guard. grrr

WoW!!! I missed this one until just now!

That is about 1000 miles away from Los Angeles, where all those protected hollywood people are.

I keep thinking that in time, that gulf there in Mexico and the gulf in the Puget Sound are going to rip open from one end to the other and become a new coastline.

i'm in hollywood. what are protected hollywood people?

LOL!!! El Q was saying earlier that many of these quakes are produced by man made device and they are trying to relieve the faults, the San Adreas especially, which are causing bigger quakes in other areas of the world.

It means that the Hollywood stars and producers/big bucks, are being protected at the cost of others around the globe.

The precursor signal for the 5.9 at Gulf of California can be seen as vertical lines at 1500utc. Notice at 1700utc 98Hz to 102Hz resonating signal comes on again and some more vertical precursor signals can be seen at about the same time
