My Dream
I had an unusually vivid dream last night which involved me being in a technical drawing class. The assignment I had was to draw a star of David in a very specific way.
The method involved using a compass to scribe arcs to find the points at which the angles of the star were placed.
As I drew the arcs I realised that I was drawing circles which showed the position of Jupiter in our solar system.
It also showed Jupiters moons and as I shaded them in I realised I was actually drawing a conjunction of the moons of Jupiter that seemed to me in the dream extremely important (I don't know why).

It's been bothering me all day. I started a thread about it because it was so vivid and strange.
Does it ring any bells for anyone. Sometimes my dreams come true (always the most mundane crap).

Well flame away. I normally don't post this kind of thing, but it seemed important.

Sorry to be annoying. I'm going to bump this for a while.
I KNOW when I've dreamed something real.

Re: My Dream
Towards the end I had ended up with a perspective sketch done from the surface of one of Jupiter's moons. Jupiter was mostly in the sky along with at least 2 moons I can't remember now exactly.

*sigh* I'd hoped someone here could make sense of it.
I woke up knowing it was important.
I don't know why.

Keep trying, OP. Someone will have an interpretation for you.

BTW, are you an architect or an engineer--do you do any drafting work? Does what you were doing relate to you in any way or was this really waaaay out there for you?

Re: My Dream
As a kid I had this reoccurring dream of floating in space, peaceful and surreal, the most beautiful feeling. Then small asteroids would start floating by, some so close that I could reach out and touch them. Time would seem endless, but as the dream progressed the asteroids would start coming faster and get larger until one would come so large and fast I am unable to get out of the way. This is when I would wake up. I have had the dream 4 more time as a adult, and the dreams feel so real that I wake up and my heart is pounding.

I have tried to come up with reasons why I would dream this. to no avail.

Normally I would say to someone who posts a dream like yours is that they might need a holiday from GLP and all the comet threads, But I know your posts and, your right , you don't post this type of topic. Dreams can feel so real and personally I believe its our subconscious sorting and processing information out side the box that we form with our rational minds. Yes I am pulling this out of my arse but Its my rationalization. I'm sure there will be allot of Fairy Dust GLPers out there with other thoughts on the matter.

Interested to see how this turns outpopcorn

I sell stuff. It was way out of left field.
It was surprising me in the dream how good I was drawing.
Towards the end though it was more like I was in the drawing looking up at an alien sky.
The most important part though was that I was drawing a time and place (I'm guessing one of Jupiters moons and last night).
These things don't normally bug me. This seemed important.

the only time i dreamed about an conjunction, it happened the next day. It was my first dream where something happened that I dreamed, so it was important for me.

Re: My Dream
If my father was still alive he may have been able to shed some light on the subject as he was a member of the astronomical society here. I still have his telescope he made from 15inch PVC sewage pipe. He had the mirrors made in the States and shipped over. I made the stand for it,but just before he passed away we found an equatorial mount in a scrap yard. We did it up and is ready to mount the motors for tracking, but never quite got around to finishing it. Still got the scope out the other night to show the kids Saturn and it rings and they had a good look at the moon. My father was amazing and could show us whole Galaxys. I hope to get into it more as I get older
