Navigating the cosmos is definitely not my thing but just maybe jpl is guessing too. This looks pretty good to me that elenin could be setting up for an orbital insertion. The only thing needed to change would be velocity. Timed slow down to arrive in orbit and deliver its message?

Assumptions are made this on a ballistic trajectory with no ability to alter course....hmm

i like to tinker and build , invent new things i love sci fi and i would think how can i build one of those. after years of tinkering i did a test flight of my small unmanned craft something went wrong the last data i got it was headed for the wolf 359 star system 7.8 light years from earth as far as i can tell it should make it there before the batteries run out how ever it does have a solar panel to recharge and a radio beacon. could your space command find it for me and return it to me. i do not have the funds to build another one. also in it was left by mistake a small keep sake i wish to have it back as well.

it was pre programed to stop the first time after 20 minutes travel and send a specific coded signel and then resume flight until the next program time of one day. the first coded and only signel that was heard was the the 20 minute signel it was heard 27 hours and 34 minutes and 13 seconds after the flight started and as i said it is headed toward the wolf 359 system

any update on the "radio signals" from elenin? I'm interested.

No way it will make it there with energy. It can't be that fast...

ho humh... posing as somebody you are not clearly doesn't lend itself very well to establish any kind of credibility whatsoever. why he would first refrain from posting, then retract that statement and at the same time admit he was hoaxing (at least to SOME extent) all along is beyond my understanding. i'll still be following developments (if only out of curiosity), but with an even more sceptic mindset than before. if that's what OP wanted to establish (people not believing him) - congratulations, you've come quite a long way, sir!

I asked my friend who worked in the "secret" Air Force space satellite program about this, and he says he doesn't believe this guy is telling the truth.

The OP refers to his CO (commanding officer) but that kind of terminology is only used in the Army apparently, not the Navy.

And my friend says the Navy has a very small to minuscule presence in space. Space is mostly occupied Air Force.

And if the guy is trying to protect his identity so he isn't reprimanded or court martialed, well, he is telling us he went to Elenin! That kind of narrows it down for the Navy to find out who he is.

OP will never come back. This was his attempt at making what he wants to be real a reality.
