He just told me he recently got a vasectomy. But look what Tesla contributed to world. Amazing. Highly-intelligent people KNOW the world is overpopulated and many turn their energies into different directions other than producing offspring. Unfortunately these celebral types are the exact people we NEED to reproduce - not the Joe-Six-Packs that rut like animals and produce totally useless little Joe-Six-Packs that grow up and continue the tradition. So don't despair OP. The planet is FULL of unwanted children - instead of grandchildren, maybe you should ADOPT a child in desperate need. Now that would be an OUTSTANDING contribution to humanity on your part. |

He just told me he recently got a vasectomy. So he's gay because he's intelligent? Maybe he is an introvert and doesn't want kids, maybe it has taken him this long to get his personal desires and thoughts figured out in his head. Maybe he's trying to make sense of a crazy ass world around him to which he may feel like he does not belong. There could be a ton of explanations, don't start placing labels on something you don't understand. |

Anyone who is smart enough to get the snip in order to avoid getting caught up with one of today's worthless vampires is ahead of the game in my book. Hopefully he ran a batch off and put them on ice, but if not he will still dodge that bullet for the rest of his life. You should be proud of him, he won't ever get bled dry by the family courts as long as he minds his swimmers. Now if you can convince him to never ever get married without a rock solid pre-nup then he will win the game! If only all men had the foresight of your son. |

At no point, in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul." |

He just told me he recently got a vasectomy. Well Nikola Tesla didn't have any sexual relationships whatsoever even though J.P. Morgan tried very hard to push his daughter on him. Didn't work. Other women also pursued him. Alas, no little Teslas were produced. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 787970But look what Tesla contributed to world. Amazing. Now that would be an OUTSTANDING contribution to humanity on your part. Anyone with a fair bit of intelligence would know the world is NOT over populated. The entire population of the globe could fit on the island of Australia with half acre plots, with an area half the size of queensland left over. Plus the entire rest of the world. |

Its not very intelligent to parrot the news media/government and claim that the world is over populated. |

He just told me he recently got a vasectomy. He may or may not be gay (he tells me he's not), and only recently started dating a "steady" girlfriend (for the past few months). He's very intelligent (think upper echelon computer programmer type), and nerdy/geeky (ditto), and has never really been very socially active. He's lately been researching if he may have Asperger Syndrome. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Quoting: germanbiniI have a 19 year old daughter so "there is still hope," though she is not currently dating much yet - very busy with work and college (that's ok). I would like her to enjoy her own life a while more before getting involved in a serious relationship or having children. I know it's not my decision, and I'm glad he felt open enough to tell me about it - but a part of me is a bit disappointed as well. He doesn't believe that "the end of the world" is going to happen anytime soon, and he also has what most people would consider a very good income. I might personally feel a bit too young to be a grandma, but it would be nice to have some little one(s) to dote on and get presents for during the holidays, etc. I guess I thought there was plenty of time - and now it's like half of that future possibility is gone. :( Here's a thought. Let your kids life their life on their own and don't try to influence them into anything. Why should it matter if your son doesn't want to have kids? Hell, if anything, you should be thrilled that he's taking the approach he is. I damn sure wouldn't want to bring any more kids into this fucked up world. |
