Lately, GLP has been abuzz with survival topics. The instinct and mindset that it takes to survive doesn't always get the proper amount of attention that I feel it deserves. This is a great example of that survival instinct saving a life. "What you have just said, is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul."

I admire her strength and courage. She had to be suffering a lot of pain from her broken leg and no food nor anyone to help her but she kept herself alive for three days, and I think she probably could have survived much longer in that gruelling situation on her own. Thank God she didn't need to.

The wording is interesting, " survives for three days on..." Do people NOT know you can live for a few weeks on WATER only ? Excuse me, but I'd eat berries and water for at least a MONTH with no rescue, before i'd even CONSIDER eating insects.

Nice General, but I thought everyone is doomed if we take away their government handout cards, I would like to own a book though on what stuff I can and can't eat in the woods, I don't want to be like that poor kid in the Alaska movie.

Learn the whole story. She and her boyfriend got into a fight, dropped thier backpacks at the lake and she walked off to find a better camping spot. So did he. After about an hour, he came back. Waited. Waited. Then he set up camp and waited. He ate dinner. Waited. After 24 hours he finally figured out he needed to find her. He circled the lake 6 times. He couldn't find her. He went for help. She had fallen down a ravine, broken her leg. Survived by eating bugs and drinking water. She started all of this by stomping off in anger. Think of everything that could have been prevented if she had just stopped for a minute.
