Reading a book of Holy scripture as a literal text leaves you (or anyone, for that matter) in the Outer Court. You must look inside...the metaphor of the Temple contains three courts: the outer, the inner, and the Holy of Holies. It's a metaphor for the human psyche (body, soul, and spirit). Jesus said to Seek and you shall Find---He didn't say confess and you're there. Once you tell yourself that you know it, your deception begins.
