Illinois lowering the privacy bar again – “Let State Farm spy on your driving, get cheaper insurance”
This is not what Americans should support it is more intrusions into our lives driven by a token discount for permission to monitor your driving habits along with who knows what else while they at it.

Let State Farm spy on your driving, get cheaper insurance

State Farm is rolling out a new plan that offers car insurance discounts for letting them use an in-car device to monitor your speed, acceleration, braking, and other habits for safety.

The program will start first in Illinois in September and expand next year.

I've been seeing new commercials over weekend for onstar. Their new product is a mirror with all the bells and whistles so they can talk to (listen) and send emergency help (track you) to your location. It's bad enough we cant cut this shit out of new cars, now they are going after the older ones.

I agree. You couldn't pay me to do this. I'm sure at some point they'll attempt to mandate it down our fucking throats though.

It is in the works.

Feds Mandate Tracking Device Be Installed On All New Cars

Federal Government mandate to install a “black box” on all new cars means your car will soon become a high-tech tracking device

This is not only a violation of the 4th amendment protecting against search and seizure without a warrant, but it also violates the our 5th amendment right of not being required to provide evidence or testimony that incriminates ourselves.
