The joys, wonders and pains (the truth) of universal duality ...and then all the stupidilty (permitted, accepted and enforced) of so many man made false hierarchal structures, theories, doctrines and control systems to add to the confusing mix....got to giggle though..as the great words of star trek say....it's life jim, but not as we know it

"Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial. 1 Corinthians 10:23 And even though "I am allowed to do anything," I must not become a slave to anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12

So true, except nothing is true...living by this philosophy it seems we would as individuals be freed from the weighty and limiting emotions/thoughts of guilt, judgement and the like....aaaahhh what a load off! Finally free to, well, be free.

Yep, truth is whatever we choose to believe is truth. Reality conforms to our beliefs. It gives the individual the power to completely shape his own world.

Re: Nothing is true; everything is permitted
The statement was originally made by Hassan-i Sabbah, though often mistakenly attributed to Aleister Crowley.

Ismaili Hassan-i Sabah was a Persian missionary who converted a community in the late 11th century in the heart of the Alborz Mountains of northern Iran. The place was called Alamut and was attributed to an ancient king of Daylam. He founded a group whose members are sometimes referred to as the Hashshashin or Assassins.

Free will:

The formula for HELL:

1. Fear God.
Easy to control.

2. Ignore God's warning about JUDGMENT.
The knowledge of good and evil.

3. Ignore Jesus' example / teaching of compassion / understanding.
Replace w/ idle worship if it makes you feel better.

4. Believe that death is the end. It may not be.

5. Just keep waiting for what we already have.

6. Die.

7. Start over...

Imagine that God created us IN HIS IMAGE by SEPARATING CONSCIOUSNESS.

Mind control uses FEAR/TRAUMA to induce split personalities/consciousness.

Could it be FEAR from THE FALL that is still keeping us separated from God?

"Do As Thou Wilt".....

Old as Lucifer.

Ask Albert Pike.

FAIL.

Nothing new under the Sun. How about this. All who wish to behave in this manner (without parameters of truth and harmony) find another planet and see how it devolves into utter entropy and chaos.

Oh. That's right. Were living it.

FAIL. yes, you fail. you're naive to the intricacies of your own will. have you ever thought about what you really want? i bet if you ever really did, that is contemplate Will as it pertains to you within the parameters of infinite variables, you would end up aesthetic, and compassionate one at that. i recommend self discovery. what we have today is not the law of the individual will, but the inhuman cycle of subordination from lack of self examination and its subsequent implementation.

ehem. you would end up an ascetic, not aesthetic. there may be some parallels, if not a direct synonym. IMO

freudian slip?

yeah, because its the philosophy of people who refuse to (or are unable to) figure out the world around them.

Not smart enough to figure out why we stick to the ground? Angels did it! ignorant about planetary orbits causing the sun to appear to rise and set in our sky? Ra is carrying the sun across the sky in a chariot! Cant wrap your head around all that complicated evidence that shows the development of life from simple to complex, from a few species to all the species we have today? God did it!

Its the philosophy of people who are too intellectually lazy to figure out that not everything IS permitted, that reality exists and can be quantified.

but isnt that why religion exists? to explain what we do not know. until science explains the reasoning, then religion will provide the answer.

Everything is permitted? Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins...
 Quoting: Celia D.

YOU are absolutely right. We should be free to do anything we choose, as long as it hurts no one else. If it does not physically do harm, it should not be off limits.

This is what it will take, once we are aware of this fact, to get off this single rock and explore as we should be doing.

Every person should have a part, up to what they will of it, and have all the rights deserved for giving. Their part should ensure them the right to live and be happy, to have what is right in his own eyes, as long as it does no harm to another.

We should all have the necessity's of life, food, shelter, and a place to belong and be part of something greater than ourselves.

This is true freedom. Freedom of expression, giving, receiving. Freedom to live our dreams without harming others.

This I give to you NOW. Take it, it's FREE!!!
I love physics. It bonds us eternally, it's what makes our computers work, it's what's in my morning cup of coffee, it's the thing that keeps the universe from vanishing due to lack of belief...
