Re: IT'S OFFICIAL: Today I was told I have successfully beaten pancreatic cancer
This post made me so very happy. I can only imagine the joy you must be feeling, the new lease on life after facing down such a terrifying foe. Thank you for sharing your story. It will help many people that are suffering all sorts of hardships, not just cancer.

I do believe that there is work left on this earth that you are still meant to do.

I'm really happy for you...and for your mom. I'm a mom and I'm pretty sure I'd be sick with worry.

An "atta-boy" for you kicking a disease that takes most, and a hugs for your mom, your parents, your family. I know this couldn't have been easy for them, either.

Here's to your life, sweet survivor...cheers

How on earth is this a useless post? In a world that bombards you with news of riots, economic decline, and other sufferings CONSTANTLY, such happy news is a breath of fresh air!

Not that you have ever had a problem doing this, judging by your post, but keep on living happy, dude! I'm genuinely happy for you! If, god forbid, me or a family member gets diagnosed with any sort of difficult disease, I'll keep your wisdom in mind! ^_^

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL: Today I was told I have successfully beaten pancreatic cancer
Suck on that Cancer, not taking me!

3% survival rate Ive been told but after a 4 year battle I finally won something that should have spread and killed me years back. I bet i'm the happiest person on earth right now, I knew before today I won the battle but to hear it confirmed is just the best. I know posting this is useless but I just need to tell everyone.

Bike ride 6 days a week and stay positive = best medicine. I don't want to go into details about my experience because I am still prone to panic attacks and bringing that up will trigger one but for anyone out there with Cancer trust me:

Get out there, suck in a ton of oxygen and wake up happy every day despite how you feel physically - allot of it is all in the head. You will win if you believe in yourself, never attach death to cancer because the moment you do it's already beating you. Surround youself with those you love and soak up all the good vibes, they got me through quite a few days.
Anyhow useless post but thought i'd share my overdose of happiness with everyone, too happy today, too happy.

EDIT: Chemo played its part, sorry for not adding this but I felt that it ruined the story somewhat. I'll go into that when I am a little more emotionally stable. It works, it's by no means perfect but I cannot sit here and tell people to ignore it.

Congrats. :)

I finished my bout with cancer 3 years ago. I was diagnosed at age 19 with stage 4B Hodgkins Lymphoma. It is a great feeling to overcome it and definitely made me realize how precious life really is.

Let's enjoy this chance to live again. hf

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL: Today I was told I have successfully beaten pancreatic cancer
I'm a two time cancer survivor. Last time is was a stage 3 colon cancer. Next week is three years cancer free! And the best part is all the JOY you feel when you smile and encourage others who are still in the middle of the battle.

Did chemo, radiation and surgery. They all played their part, but YES, the attitude is a key factor. Hugs to your loving mom who kept things in line while you fought the good fight.

So other than what I'm taking as "oxygen" therapy and positive mental attitude....

Did you do anything else?

Childhood friends father was diagnosed and dead within weeks, so I'm very glad for you, as well as curious what protocol you used.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 546778

Well I didn't want to mention the obvious but I did go through you're obvious chemo. I know it's probably not a popular subject here. I was lucky to be diagnosed very early by chance when I had a stool test for something unrelated and it came back with high levels of oil. The tumors never really grew and we never really understood why considering how aggressive Pancreatic cancer normally is, my mum generally handled the doctor tals as I have been very fragile and as a result I probably know less than I should. I do thank her for that.

I will have a follow up when I calm down in a few days that goes more indepth, hope you come back to read it :)

I'm not using chemo ever. The five year survival rate is too low. The best course to reverse the cancer is to change what caused it such as out toxic western diet of high animal fat and sugar.

Re: IT'S OFFICIAL: Today I was told I have successfully beaten pancreatic cancer
Good job A++

I beat cancer in 1985. Lymphoma. A years worth of chemo in 3 months. Good food, positive, good people, water purifier, air purifier, a little black hash in all my food to keep my appetite up. It worked. That was a long time ago. CURED!...

after years of study, I am finding out most cancer is a fungus. So I moved out of the basement apartment, and add a little hydrogen peroxide to a humidifier every once and a while. Hit the gym, never eat dairy products (too many bad things in them), and take potassium iodide daily. 50mg. My thyroid loves it.

I am in better shape now than when I was 18.

again, good work.

Hagar usually it's the GP who breaks the news
and they will phone you all hours, he or she may have
received the report from the oncologist late
Friday afternoon spent Sat pouring over it and rang
the mum on Sat or Sun.
Good news is good news.
I had an older relative who had the same type of
aggressive cancer and the young doc came to their home
whenever he was passing by just to check on her
to say hello how ya doing etc because he
actually truly cared.. sometimes he was almost in tears
which wasnt good but we knew he cared...lots.. heaps..
and he was young and more scared than she was.
In her case a specialist stuffed up by not
advising chemo after a 2nd lot of surgery
and the cancer reappeared several years down
the track by which time it was too late. Long story.
