Well, my wife just pulled me into the bathroom to talk (we have her little sister staying with us, trying to get her sorted out and on the right track before school starts again).

She starts telling me about 2 pitbulls that somebody on the same street my grandma lives on letting their pitbulls out to roam during the day, and then letting them back in to hide at night.

So far they have killed 3 or 4 dogs that belonged to people, as well as 4 cats. I get that dogs kill. But the owners are actively engaging in a criminal act. It's not like they're just dogs being dogs....they're stalking down other peoples pets and brutally killing them. Initially they had stayed in a pretty small circle, but apparently today they went half across town, across the viaduct bridge here. Apparently they killed a black lab by ripping both of it's ears of in a tug-of-war fashion. She didn't understand what they guy that came into work was talking about when he said "I have my shotgun in my vehicle, and if I see those dogs....they're dead." One of our neighbors gave her context to what was said...the "why" of it.

Our local cops were out actively looking for the two dogs today, to no avail. Nor can they figure who the dogs belong to. Nobody on that street has two pits that any of us know of....and I know most of the people that live down there. After much discussion and giving my wife some background on how aggressive pitbulls attack, our son will not be playing outside here where we live until the dogs are caught. If she was here with our son and he got attacked, she would not be able to stop them. I'd be outmatched by two pits working together like that. Our neighbor is in the same boat with regards to her grandkids. Tomorrow afternoon when I get off of work, I'll take my family out to the family farm (well outside of town) so he can ride his bike and run around.

Wtf is going on down here on our little rock, people? Where the hell did compassion, morals, and ethics all go? I should not have to coop my kid up because somebody decides to disregard the safety of people and other animals/pets alike.
